I have a $125 one from amazon, and I should have bit the bullet and gotten a better one. The tray is small so it's limited on how big of something I can slice. Cleaning it is a pain. it's been more of a bother to use than anything. still, homemade roast beef sliced thin is nice.
I feel like this decision really depends on the quality of sandwiches in your neighborhood. Not worth the counter space in many, if not most, neighborhoods in Philadelphia, for instance.
Keep in mind unless you get a high end one it can’t really slice cheese. Like that $200 Waring one doesn’t hold up. Best bet is get a used one from a deli or restaurant. I made this mistake.
I used to be the slicer bitch at a Frank Pepe's. Slicing mootz and roni all day. You will absolutely regret your decision purchasing a slicer the first time you have to clean it. Also, you have to clean it every time.
Think of the sandwiches! The ramen bowls! They're not even that big! Get one that can slice frozen meat for the ultimate experience in paper thin beast flesh!

the ones for home-use are often small in stature and strength, makes it a nightmare to rapidly slice nice thin pieces of stuff
also, how many pieces the thing can be broken down into, you want to be able to clean all the parts
His last words? You guessed it: “Earn this.” (clutching a slice of prosciutto)
