I grew up with public transit so nice I never really needed to learn to drive until I moved other places where it was atrocious and poorly-developed. (On purpose.) Problems people talk about it having?
My home transit system didn't demonstrate.

but the republican leaning ones should know that you wouldn't be better off working in a factory unless you're unionized. you gotta fight for those decent wages.
I like sewage treatment, it's crucial but I don't really want that work. Conversely, I'd be better off if I were a hedge fund manager, but society would almost certainly be worse if most of us did that for a living.
(That said domestic manufacturing still just won’t make sense for most things most of the time.)
