CEOs in response to Trump tariffs: We’re in shock, losing money, thrown for a loop, Never imagined he’d go this far.
Me, before Trump took office: He’ll do widespread tariffs and break the system of global trade. Just listen to what he has repeatedly said, and observe what he already did.

Failure of imagination was a major factor on 9/11, and now burning down the entire global economy.
F’em all!
I hope that with your and others' prior warnings, the republicans would have done some what-iffing ahead of time, so they would be prepared for this almost unthinkable scenario.
Let's hope that they show some spine.

So who's the rube now, guys?

And so they assumed it's gonna be the same again.
They really did believe in an Imaginary Reliable Trump, one who was tossing meat to the rubes but would do what a Wall St. CEO would do, and told each other this to the point it was socially-reinforced groupthink.
Fuck them all
The most powerful people in the country, and it isn’t especially close, are top government officials. Supreme Court Justices, Speaker of the House, Attorney General, and most of all, the president.
What's frustrating is that Donald Trump, simple creature he is, is perhaps the most easily predictable human being in the history of reality, yet so many somehow predict the wrong thing. It's like failing kindergarten. It's fucking bananas.
1. He's a malignant narcissist
2. He has a complex about elites looking down on him
3. He's both profoundly ignorant and very stupid
That's part of the reason we lost Roe V Wade protections.
"Build a wall" was something I heard from Bush 1.
"Self deportation" was a Romney plan.
It's taken 50 years for the project to reach it's apotheosis, but here we are.
Watching the mass psychology of idiot autocracy play out makes me appreciate what a brilliant and insightful piece of satire it is.
Another example of why they are absolutely overpaid for what they do.
They simply assumed this was another case of telling ppl what they want to hear, without it ever happening.
Same in Germany where I live: The rich get richer, workers get screwed - and that is that.
Stop doing the "whataboutism" because this is different.
🤔
On another note - can’t state enough how wrong the far leftists were in calling Biden a corporate neoliberal and “both sides are the same.”
These people are more than willing to hurt themselves and their loved ones over the color of someone’s skin or language they speak.
What's your definition of neoliberalism?
He's an authoritarian kelptocrat.
There is nothing redeeming about Trump at all.
He doesn't think he's helping others or doing good. He's just about stealing stuff to enrich himself and his push.
Couldn't her actions be consistent with ensuring Amazon doesn't replace the state in its treatment of other businesses and making sure laws aren't made for personal enrichment of lawmakers?
Those boards of directors need to reconsider their CEO choice.
Banks need to strongly reconsider their analyst choices. If they couldn’t predict this outcome, they shouldn’t be employed as analysts or CEOs.
trying to crack the codes…the "flying saucer men," that's the Ministry of Justice?"
"No, the flying saucer men are the flying saucer men. Narzak. Area 66. The global empire. What level are you?"
How did we get to the point that absolute morons hold serious important positions????
That's partially true and partially false. It depends on which year, based on the stock market and real estate markets.
Why do we listen to them ?
I hope this finally destroys the myth that “Wealth = Worth.” Too many people believe that if someone has money, they must be inherently better and smarter, and must know what they’re doing.
They could have had safe steady predictable growth under Harris, but they were willing to throw vulnerable people to the wolves in expectation of an instant pot of gold.

He's nuts and they want to pretend otherwise.
Wall Street still believes there is something strategic here and in the end his business friendly polices will help. It is just a pipe dream though, lower taxes and less regulation won’t over come the chaos.
What did they think was going to happen?
The CEO's? Fuck them. They chose this over a bit of regulation and slightly higher tax rates (that they don't pay anyway).
Remember in 2017 we were told he would "pivot" from his campaign persona to his business persona. He never did.
It's right in front of everybody what kind of man he is.
Not a good look to be a business leader and not believe a word that comes out of YOUR guy's mouth. It's almost like you think he's lying. Or stupid. Or both.
I would’ve thought CEO’s, making $100’sK to $$M … would’ve’d Used SomeInDepth &/or Creative Imagination concerning JustHowFarTheDonald’d Go!
😬 CostlyMistake! Seems I’ve heard B4…#NoBusinessIsTooBigToFail!
🤔hhmmm MaaaayBe A Few CEO’s Need Replacing!
