In a related story, Jethro Tull's 'Crest of a Knave' will always be a better heavy metal album than whatever crapola Metallica was flogging circa 1989.
You need to back the Lynott/Morrissey thing up - video evidence ;)
To be fair, Metallica shoulda called it quits after Cliff or actually fired Lars at that point.
New album... kinda old-man Motorhead I can live with, I wouldn't part with cash for it though.
It's like Lil Wayne's lighter flick before every track, except it's the sound of a very sweaty man trying to fit a hoagie down his neck in one bite like he's a snake
True story (well, almost). While sunbathing at the beach, Chris came up with the lyrics for ‘Hella Good’. When she heard it, Gwen saw the lyrical genius in the lyrics & wanted the rights to it.
Chris insisted that, as part of the deal, he’d get to sing back up vocals if the song was recorded/released. If you listen very carefully, you can hear him singing in the background:
The waves keep on crashin' on me for some reason
But your love keeps on comin' like a thunderbolt
Well come here, a little closer
'Cause I wanna see you, baby, real close up
(Get over here, get over here)
Now I'm going to search "leaves no doubt" every day until that phrase follows the name of some prominent figure in a current headline just so I can steal that bit.
whaaaa???? yall are trippin! first album goes hard, and those shows back in 92 at Chain Reaction were legit as hell! (i tried to find one that wasnt filmed on a fred flinstone pelican)
But besides, I never said they don’t “go hard”. They’re just not a ska band. And it is insulting to many female ska legends to even consider calling Stefani the queen of ska.
definitely not gonna call her the queen of ska, not even sure if that fits for pauline black (although it does a LOT more than gwen), but to say they were never ska.... hey music is subjective at the end of the day
Out of curiosity, what is your reason for saying “not sure it fits” for Pauline black? There are a few other women that have been dubbed the title at the time but Pauline is generally regarded as having the title.
Technically, they are and - prior to '83 - not half bad. They drifted firmly into pop starting with Labour of Love, however, and never really looked back. No Doubt has a very similar relationship with Ska.

As far as the Grammys go, I mean.
Thank you in advance, codpieces.
I think Phil Lynott appeared on a game show with Morrissey if anyone needs a link of Six Degrees of It Ain't Bacon.
And who doesn't?

So let's just keep on dancin'
You hold me like you should
So I'm gonna keep on dancin' (Keep on dancin')”
Don’t believe me? Ask Gwen!
The exact moment the lyrics came to him:
Don’t speak
If you want to check out early ska, look for like Toots & The Maytals, or The Skatalites etc
No, nothing else. Just Don’t Speak, Chris.
Sometimes we make little compromises with the facts to make a joke work.
You do not need to educate me.
(Geddit?)
And I fucking hate when people call Gwen the queen of ska even more

and the band kind of invited it with some of their merch
but yeah even before Tragic Kingdom they were mostly something else
Don't speak
I know just what you're sayin'
So please stop explainin'
Don't tell me 'cause it hurts
I'm just a pol in the world"
