Here is how to disable Copilot in Word on a Mac. My version was slightly different. It was this:
Expand "Word" menu > Preferences > Personal Settings > Privacy > go down to "Connected Experiences" and click Manage Connected Experiences > uncheck all the boxes > restart Word (cont'd)
Expand "Word" menu > Preferences > Personal Settings > Privacy > go down to "Connected Experiences" and click Manage Connected Experiences > uncheck all the boxes > restart Word (cont'd)

Google's privacy policy states that they may use user data, including data from Google Drive, to improve their products and services, which may include training AI models.
However, there's no specific opt-out option explicitly for AI training using Google Drive data.

Microsoft. When you force something on your customers it would be noble (noble...lol!) to give instructions how to opt out at the same time.
On laptop the settings are in Word at:
Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Privacy Options>Privacy Settings where the Connected Experiences Settings are halfway down page:
- experiences that analyze your content
- exp. that download online content
- all connected experiences
Word Preferences profoundly lack of anything that even faintly resembles a "Copilot" tab (yes, it's ver. 16.93).
(I can turn off "Connected Experiences" but I still get Copilot right there as an icon at the top of the page, so it doesn't help me.)

If a tool introduces features I hate I delete it.
Really good as a drafting tool to then export to the format you need.

can you also opt out of your writing being used to train Microsoftβs LLMs?
But thank for you these clear instructions!
