It’s pretty typical to need a splitter for attenuation on circuits dedicated to a single modem instead of multiple household TVs/STBs. My Comcast Business circuit needed a 4 port split to drop ~7.5dB to avoid overdriving the modem. Signal levels from the pole are usually hot enough for 4+ receivers.
That pipework is gross as fuck. Whoever bent that EMT or planned those pipe runs should be taken out back. Exposed work and there's mismatched straps, missing support, awful bends. What the fuck is that 4-point saddle to the wall for? And the knockout pattern on the panel? Blech.
I really need to get a shelf like this installed. Except I keep being incredibly skittish about putting my storage on a shelf without some kind of lip or edge on it.
Oooooo interesting. You should look into Ubiquiti stuff - it’s confusing at first, but super fascinating and powerful. It’s also expensive, but not terrible in the grand scheme of things, particularly for what you get. Let me know if you want to talk more about it!
The switch is the Cisco up top right below the patch panel. The fan is because the (soon to be replaced because of too many unfixed cve issues) TP-Link router was overheating in the summer. This is in the garage. The little fan fixed it pretty quick.
Nice. I just got into home labs and bought an old Thinkstation p520 to use for some around the house web services and back-up storage. Been a ton of fun setting it up.

Seriously. I bet there's a lot to get into.
Why are there so many types of rawl plugs?
Are floating shelves inherently riskier than those with visible brackets?
Wtf is a stud anyways?
Is that some new street drug?
I'll show myself out...
Thanks for the reminder lol
This is the internet and we have standards to maintain. Nothing personal mind you.

Will it have LED lighting and, if so, will you paint over them with more pleasing colours?
This is so close to being a man.
No shelf shelves quite like that shelf.
I found a 3D printer project for home rack mounts, currently playing making mounts for my 8-port switches.
