I don’t blame people for this feeling! Covid really did suck and being forced to constantly encounter and negotiate our collective interconnectedness was exhausting and at times enraging. The backlash made a lot of sense. But it absolutely created a reactionary cultural and political environment.

They got Roe v Wade.
Because they took to the streets.
(Not to mention having created the greatest music.)
What the fuck have Millenials done?
Whine and complain.
They elected Trump. Twice.
If it is, society is lost.
It'll be really interesting to see droves of people and institutions 'come back' to caring/doing anything once friends and family start dying again
Only if there's direct, observable harm do people give a shit anymore (and that's not even really a covid statement)
But so many have embraced an unsustainable culture of selfishness and hate. We have done nothing to prepare for coming pandemics and disasters because it takes any maturity to do so.
Covid was the ultimate challenge to many people's worldview, and only served to deepen their reliance on it.

(Not an expert but seems a victory for MMT.)
Also, we could lose a whole political party if the GOP continues to think masks are just silly.
The public may be taken in by hucksterism but physics/biology won't be.
I swear Americans have the attention span of a parakeet.
Too many died to cut assholes some slack 🤷♀️.
If that is the case, there is no humanity.
Is the fact we were all at home, with our computers and lots of time on our hands.
(Big mistake) From ruling class point of view.
We all had front row seats to how fucked we're getting in real time.
I have a nasty feeling we will be on a 1920s, 30s and 40s speedrun for the next year or two.
It also showed that people lied to loved ones about whether they masked or vaxxed because they didn’t want to have uncomfortable conversations.
This really highlights a conflict between our identity and how we live that has been brewing for a long time and Covid really brought to the foreground.
Never mind the company did not care if we became sick pre-vaccine.
Thanks Linda

You don't get to decide to 'wrap it up'.
due to anecdotal information and op-eds about how people want to move on from Covid
then we find out that every member of 60 mins cast and crew was required to be tested 2X before coming into contact w/ Biden hahahahah
not that some people weren't upset about Covid measures; but the polling data was....very clear
elite Dems just didn't want to acknowledge it any longer
When was the last time you or any of your colleagues mentioned COVID on the air?
COVID infections have increased 5 fold in the last 10 days. One in 50 Americans are currently infected. Is this not newsworthy?
Did you remind folks to take precautions over the holidays?
We learned last week that 9% of long COVID patients suffer a loss of 30 (thirty!) IQ points. That reduces full functional people with an avg IQ of 100 to people who can no longer care for themselves. That's news, Chris.
Who will care for them? Will our government support them? Or will we look away while they suffer increasing disability, poverty, homelessness, and death?
This is exactly what you & your colleagues should be reporting.
But... crickets.
