Someone in the office kicked off about "honest opinions" and how "some people couldn't handle words" so I called him a cunt and he put in a complaint, like the snowflake he is.
It's all fun and trolling until someone does unto them as they've done unto to others.
I have no problem reflecting their actions back at them and being the agent of that reflection, but will always be woke and polite to folks acting in good faith.
A friend who overanalyzes stuff said "woke" is about doing or not doing stuff because you "woke up" to the fact it was wrong where "politically correct" is about doing or not doing stuff to avoid getting in trouble no matter how you actually feel about it
Eh liberalism I would disagree with that. It is more promotion of hyper individualism. It is weirdly contradictory where it is hyper capitalist and is thought to be accepting of democracy and differing opinions. Capitalism is incapable with democracy and not all opinions need to be shared.
I would argue that protecting individual liberties and wanting a free market are not incompatible. If I want a certain car brand it should be my perogative, but if that car brand suppresses rights there should be interference.
I don’t disagree with this take. People are not a monolith but as someone that is a leftist and have read history of movements I will always see liberals as right wingers. I will work with them on things we align but if there is no give it is hard to support them.
So I disagree with your assertion that capitalism is capable with freedom or democracy. In the end the government will always serve the interests of the people in control of the means of production so every capitalist country is inherently an oligarchy…
I prefer freedom to have housing, education, healthcare, childcare, and democratic power in my workplace. This would mean the move to automation doesn’t mean lose of income but increase in leisure time. That is freedoms not being able to buy 50 slightly different versions of the same product
I'm actually surprised more people aren't yet sick of anti-WOKE whining. It's intolerable. These babies seem bent on ruining every movie, video game, TV show, etc. It's ten times louder and a hundred times more annoying than the most "PC" complaining I ever heard in my life. When does it stop?
A couple of things, you know how they made armor gender fluid? No biggy. That's not even what I saw people complaining about.
The one that sticks out was screaming about how the male hunter character was shorter than alma and more feminine than her and that you couldn't change that. Really bizarre
The gender fluid armor thing I thought was a neat idea. Always got tiring to hear complaints about female armor being "too sexy looking." Now, they can be armored up, too. I guess people will always find a way to complain.
Not able to play Wilds currently, but the male hunter is shorter than Alma?
I'm with you on the Wokeness (actual Wokeness, not the performative kind), but P.C. Culture is just a lot of virtue-signaling and finger-wagging (and not the cool finger-wagging like Bernie does).
I don't care about USA's inner politics, even I don't give a fuck anything about it. But stop fucking movies and games with wokeness. I don't wanna watch black Severus Snape or James Bond just as I don't wanna watch white Morpheus or Blade. You can make new characters but stop ruining existing ones.
Wokeness has it's places, & Centralism Orders The Played Sequence of Events being Placated: It all works like Playing With Cards at a Casino; The Only Way to Win, is TO CHEAT. And The Devil Plays Cards, sometimes. ;)
Call me old fashioned, but to me PC culture was just called being polite growing up. Guy in a wheelchair, don't fuckin tell him what he can and can't do. Woman you don't know? Don't fucking bother her. Someone dressed in a way you don't like, say fucking nothing. Fucking polite.
Yeah, it seems anything respecting women, minorities, the poor, etc is lumped in with political correctness. This way, racist trash can spew their bullshit and claim that people who feel disrespected and disgusted are overly sensitive
Exactly, I grew up the same way. Hold the door open for everyone, compliment others, if someone has fallen on the ground then help them & ask if they are okay, put your napkin over your when eating- these are just the rules I grew up with (that I learned from books because I have no social skills.)
Holding the door open and complimenting others is impolite? They are supposed to be things that make others feel good. Same with helping others up. Simple things such as that, or returning letters within a month, but I'm forgetful so letters are usually hard for me to remember to write.
Yeah, something about "patriarchy" or "ableism" or something like that is the usual argument as to why those are impolite. So, these days, I don't do them. Or go out of my way to help anyone I don't know. Not worth the headaches.
Which is really sad.. I'm a 'girl' (genderqueer actually but I don't pass as a man..) so I don't get hit with many of those but I make it clear I'll help anyone. It may be a headache but one day someone will thank you. Although my friends and I often race to the door to open it first..
"Woke" became a derogatory standin for empathy. The word was comandeered by people who think being kind is somehow a problem, and that preformative cruelty is a good.
i guess i'm more old fashioned than you because "politically correct" is a way for politicians to sound informed on an issue without coming down on one side or the other
it's the neoliberal way of thinking: you can't gain votes by taking a side, only lose them
WOKE is a bad thing because of those who use it. When soneone says something is woke its alwayse an insult like or so ungenuine it should be an insult, like disney putting diversity into something only to basically be token characters to say "look we care" then rip them out for foreign distribution.
I already had to report one of the replies to this for hate. Which exemplifies why I'm so leery of both MAGA and PC culture/wokeness. Too many people feel empowered by either to spew hatred, and it's getting to the point the good message of wokeness is beginning to be drowned out.
It never went away. Just the 4channers are spreading out to other sites again. They do this every so often. Luckily, the slurs they've invented are not spreading as well.
No thanks. We just called it courtesy and politeness.
I don't need silly buzzwords to be a decent polite person.
The use of buzzwords just cheapens everything.
It's okay. You had no reason to know. Even as an American, it's extremely difficult to keep up with everything Trump has ruined or every acronym he's using.
I don't like being any levels of hate towards anyone, long before MAGA's revival. (Reagan did MAGA before Trump did lol)
I just came to that conclusion on my own.
I'm fiercely individualistic but just happen to like being nice to other people without a society or culture telling me I have to.
And honestly? Thats all thats needed. I hate how people have had to put a label on people just being...empathetic towards others. Being nice to people shouldnt have to be labeled "Woke" or anything like that. It SHOULD just be normal.
I dunno.
People are afraid of a lot of weird stuff and it's hard to humor things so far removed from your own philosophy in the attempt to try and understand.
Best I can tell, "woke" is when a minority exists, whether person or idea.
Merit is rarely explored and when it is, it's usually shallow.
PC culture is actually what got us here; you’ll recall that it is an expression originating at least in the 90s, and it led to people not calling things what they were, including this fascistic rhetoric
Nah. When progressives "won" and consolidated institutional narratives, they just turned into the new conservatives. Wokeness as framework became stale and antagonistic to the progressive ideal of always questioning the status quo
IMHO the best thing to do is let it die and learn from the mistakes

Are you recruiting mortals who want to become demons btw?
Sounds like a better gig than what I have going on right now.

just cuz faux news says it like a slur doesn't mean it's a bad thing. they just want their viewers to lack empathy and stay stupid.
Luce, at your service.😉

Being autistic and Bi means one is woke.
Also having a working knowledge of US history is woke.
In fact anyone who doesn’t plug their ears and go lalallalalalalala is doomed to become woke.
But you won’t be PC if you use Apple
But then you are the Devil

Now, if you bully people, I will not be respectful.

Though had I planned better? A Barret chambered in 50 would have been useful.
And for what it's worth, at least one unconvincing pretend human agrees with you both.
Take a toke
But dont choke
Da real onez know
Then I think about people who are targeted by bigotry. They can’t tune out being who they are.
And that is the essence of what’s good about woke. Letting people be who they are.
I just came to that conclusion on my own.

I do.
Nearly as small as a Derringer with 10 rounds better range and a whole lot more stopping power.
I won't like it. But my grandpa didn't like unit 731 either
Makes it very easy to determine if someone is worth listening to or worthy of any respect.
