No, there aren't. But if you're willing to take unsolicited advise from a caring stranger, open yourself up to your therapist AND your peers. Between the two you should be able to get all the understanding and expertise you need to feel both heard and understood.
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists I found my therapist through here! You might be able to find something - I found an ex academic to help lead me through my decision to leave academia because she understood it in a way others could not
Tbf, I think there's probably an artisanal market for the problem cluster that comes with being an internet personality that must still create to be relevant in the public eye.
For real just talked w a therapist today who is not taking new clients, as most aren't, but joked that she might make an exception for a really interesting client.
Honestly, I think I kind of am qualified -signed a therapist who is chronically on tik tok as evidenced by seeing this video at 1:30am and jetting over to blue sky to espouse my expertise... "very mindful, very self aware, I don't pretend to be perfect like this other clinicians"
Hmm, I wouldnβt call him (or you) a broken-down internet creator, but @aragusea.bsky.social has been around for 7-8 years and he started seeing someone when he began tapering his content schedule down
I'm not a therapist, but I'm a good listener, and I support a lot of men who struggle with depression/mental health, feeling stagnant in life, finding purpose, etc.
I live in California, so we're in the same time zone. My job also affords me a lot of free time to chat about whatever.
I think my therapist could do it but he only takes Medicaid and I have to assume youβre too wealthy for that. The government is gatekeeping my therapist
As someone going to school to be a therapist, I feel like many therapists who have experience on the internet would have some of the necessary knowledge. There are βTherapists for Influencersβ who do specialize in this. There are also therapists who create content themselves.
it is helpful to open a window and scream out it and then close it. that screaming is no longer your problem since you closed them out. or just get a pillow.
You know, I had this silly idea once. What if therapists have therapists? And their therapists had therapists, and so on and so on? Until you reached the supreme therapist to rule them all?
Second reaching out to Dr. K he works a lot with internet creators privately, and will probably have some unique insights pertaining to content creators. Also rip reckful, mental health is important to take seriously. https://www.healthygamer.gg/contact
Hearing you call yourself broken-down feels healing to me today. We went through cancer treatment at the same time and I'm having a very broken-down day. That's the only reason I can come up with for why you'd feel broken-down. Hope you rally w/ or w/out a therapist.
Is there enough research to warrant a fellowship? Given that it is a relatively new profession, and you are talking breakdowns, how large is the targeted population?
I'm listening to this podcast (it's in portuguese). Its called "De SaΓda", and it kinda talks about that. Has interviewed some internet creators, one in particular, that was HUGE in Brazil, and like 4 years ago kinda stopped. Wish you could listen, i think you would like it.
The name of this creator it's Julia, or Jout Jout (online).
And she just decided to stop, she moved to a tiny city on the country and nobody knew where she was. she gave this interview, but she is not coming back. And honestly, good for her.
She sounds happy in it.
Is this a thing??
My therapist isn't Online at all, but I kind of enjoy the wide zooming out I need to do to contextualize things for her when they come up... It does eat up the clock though.
You're not broken. You just need to rest. Having cancer is a huge life experience, and it's going to take time to figure out where to go from here. Just try to take it easy, read, meditate, give yourself space, and observe your surroundings
Yes, many therapists help with Life Transitions and Life Adjustments. Good websites to find a therapist are Psychology Today, Open Path, or Mental Health Match :).
Treatment is simple, there's a great science youtuber whose videos are always good to cheer up your mood while learning something. Go and see him. That should pick you up.
In my experience finding a therapist that is experienced with your needs is best accomplished thru your primary care provider, close friend reccomendations, or if you have a psychiatrist/other mental health pro in your team of medical people's, ask them. ππ
There's this guy on YouTube called Dr. K who has talked to streamers and such, and - while I have a sort of neutral personal opinion of him - I don't know how confident I am with recommending him to other people. I'd maybe look into the guy, but don't take this as an endorsement!
NGL, a well-rounded trauma therapist is worth their weight in saffron. I feel like a lot of trauma therapy can easily translate over to internet grief to a certain degree.
I have gone through some Internet Trauma and it's so hard finding a therapist that even knows where to begin with it lol
Thankfully my current therapist is patient and has a base understanding of some things
I dunno, but every once in a while I'll go to the beach or a fire pit and make a fire and just spend a bit of time looking at it. I think there is something ingrained in us that let's it just reset our brains or somethin'.
I am a therapist but I didn't specialize in that area and I am retired. I am, however, feeling the weight of the current state of our nation. Therapists sometimes need their own therapist.
I believe what you're looking for is "Ask jeeves". Today hiding under the pseudonym https://ask.com
It's that or setting up your personal support group of broken-down internet creators. The therapy involves unpluging recording equipment from computers through group support and hugs.

Hmu bro.
Wow! Ya know what, maybe depression is a good thing. It's all about your perspective.
- Joe Rogan, probably

He still does clinical work and would probably LOVE to interview/work with you!

*looking up what it takes/how long to become a therapist*
My therapist isn't Online at all, but I kind of enjoy the wide zooming out I need to do to contextualize things for her when they come up... It does eat up the clock though.
It's unfortunate though. The field needs more specialists that are aware of modern Internet related issues!
Because if itβs the latter I could use a referral
Also, sorry if I'm insulting you by insinuating you're an entertainer.
Heβs done a bunch of YouTube videos with various content creators? (Usually in gaming sphere but closer than a normal therapist I guess? π )
Hope that helps, Pagliacci.
(i'm just goofing, i hope you are able to find the help you're looking for π)
Thankfully my current therapist is patient and has a base understanding of some things
pls collab with him hes so good
Hank is better off doing it like us plebs. Going around and trying one 'till you find a good fit.
Therapists are like shoes, highly individual with no size fits all.
