not even on the chart but they're convinced he's paying thousands upon thousands of "crisis actors" to yell at their representatives and protest in the streets
(Soros is a major donor though and leaving him off this graph entirely plays into the hands of conspiracy theorists. The fact he's left off EVERY graph is objectively worrying)
Soros’ contribution is mentioned up top. in addition in 2024, George Soros donated $60M to Democracy PAC & $4.47M via Soros Fund Management, totaling $64.47M in verified contributions to Dem candidates and causes. But rich people typically give money to GOP. Campaign finance reforms are needed.
id bet that at least a good chunk of republicans think that they should only be able to do certain things and democrats shouldnt. it isnt just trump who wants to squash dissident. a lot of other gop members would do the same thing he's doing right now. they only care about money and power
Geroge Soros is their go-to boogey man, as is ANTIFA .
They throw those names around either to justify some nefarious thing they have done or claim riots or protesters are either 'actors paid by Soros or are ANTIFA.
MAGAts always need an enemy. They need a boogey man to focus the mindless mob.
Because the average Republican has no idea what they're talking about, they're literally just parroting people they know at their shitty pseudo-Christian Evangelical church or what they heard on Faux News.
As for the smarter ones, every accusation is a confession.
the average republican is told by the gop that democrats are weak and that people like trump are strong and will help them. they convince people that he hears them, and then when he comes to power with their votes he throws all of them under the bus. he doesn't care about them
he just twists their minds into thinking whatever he says is right. he makes the weak man feel strong and uses them for his own political gain. it's a cult of personality
The average Republican has been content with obeying the Southern Strategy as used by Goldwater and Reagan in the 20th century that has been revived by Elon Musk and Donald Trump, in which poorly educated and economically poor white Southerners (esp. men) are conditioned to blame minorities for /1
everything that rich powerful people are actually doing. It was easy to harness the existing racism and sexism of white Southern men (especially poor ones) and use it against everyone who wasn't exactly like them, to allow the rich and conservative to prosper relatively unmolested. It is as old /2
as the hills. It has been used by other names by many other civilizations in history, but the Southern Strategy as an American construct was introduced when Trump was still in high school. Barry Goldwater - who ironically was Anti-Evangelical - was the original culprit as a far-right extremist. /3
I genuinely wonder if the reason Trump is so close to Putin involves Putin showing Trump how to destroy institutions and install billionaires to run the country. The way Putin took control of Russia. I am watching for the rise of private militias with military supplies.
Alt text for the image: "Notably missing from the list is prominent democratic donor George Soros, who donated $179 million in the 2022 campaign. Much of that money was not spent until the 2024 election cycle."
“My brothers, never forget, when you hear the progress of enlightenment being praised, that the most beautiful ruse of the devil is to convince you that he does not exist!”
All of these people, with few exceptions, will eventually feel the wrath of the First Felon. You can only hold on to the tiger's tail for so long before he turns around and eats you.
On this chart you can see why democracy in the US can't work. Essential part of democracy is competition of political ideas and programs. In the US it is only about money. Real democracies have ceilings on campaign spendings different for different type of elections.
What’s the motive breakdown?
Less taxes and more profits?(basically the same)
Smaller government. (Why the f do they care?)
Religious moral reasons?
Control the money and power they currently have.
Maybe we should institute anti-trust laws for individuals in addition to companies. Too much money accumulated in an individual's hands should be broken up and redistributed.
Reagan kicked off today's problems in 1981: tax policy favoring corporations & rich; busted PATCO enabling more union busting; blame govt for everything.
1990s billionaires rise, worker pay falls
2008 bail out banks, not regular folk.
Billionaires somehow can't find satisfaction in all of the $$$s
This is why I don’t think he even had to cheat this time, (I’m sure he still did bc low IQ). Bc of Citizens United, Elon literally had to donate just enough money to make sure he wins, and that is still less than half a percent of his net worth. Time to end voter suppression and Citizens United
My tin foil hat theory is if Elon did rig votes, it was to secure Congress votes, to give Trump unchecked power, bc they knew he had enough money to win the presidency already
Actually, if they didn't donate all that money to politicians who want to dismantle your social safety nets in order to fund taxcuts for the wealthiest, the social safety nets would all be fully funded... 🤷♀️
It disturbs me the names missing- the dark money names like Mercer & Koch- those people haven’t disappeared. & it’s time to change the language: “conservative”. Is not the correct word. Call them what they are: fascists
Imagine having this much money that you could address some societal issues, such as hunger, education, health care, and instead be so greedy you want to have more and everyone else to have less.
Maybe a silly question, from a European trying to understand this. What has happened with all this republican money? Where does it go? What is done with it, besides buying the election?

What a rogues' gallery. I see a couple of names who've been pouring literally millions of dollars into killing my right to marry.
And, BTW, the Uhleins are the owners of Uline, the company that sells all sorts of packing materials. I wish I'd know that back when I owned a bookstore.
#Musk + Mohammed #AlGergawi, #UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Future, former chairman of #Dubai Holding, the investment vehicle of the emirate, in 2017 during the World Government Summit, Dubai. Musk appeared again in 2023 over video to rail against unity & cooperation between governments.
When we allow someone to donate so much knowing that they are not simply doing it out of the goodness of their hearts but more so for the ROI. This is exactly why we need to take money out of politics. It should never be treated as an investment vs supporting the best candidate getting into office.
this is way underreported--twitter cost billions and was used to move the overton window, never mind what kind of narrative funding elon was doing on top of the purchase
Imagine having just the money any one of these people donated... Even the smallest amount on this list would be enough to change a family's life for the better in a pretty drastic way.
I'm saddened the US allows such corruption to continue. In the U.K. during elections every political party has a hard limit of how much it can take from any single donor and it's not millions but rather 5 figures! Donors cannot be granted privacy and in fact have to be disclosed.
We have essentially the same rules, but there was a Supreme Court decision in 2010 that allowed unlimited spending separate from campaigns. So anyone can just spend this much making their own political ads etc. They of course collaborate with campaigns but enforcement is basically zero.
In the U.K. we do have the 'Electoral Commission' who provide independent oversight over elections, also any registered voter can register as an 'independent electoral observer' and given accredited ID authorising them to visit and inspect polling places and even oversee the count of ballots...
... and check things like the seals are intact on ballot boxes (we aren't very sophisticated in the U.K.! We still vote using good old fashioned pen and paper still unlike the US using electronic voting machines and counters!), I've been an observer at a count centre overseeing vote counting!
... wealthy people or those with lots of connections ever have a chance at political office leading to an unbalanced class system. Limits ensure it's not just money that's buying a result but as it should be just policies and belief in competence in politicians.
... rather than just cash and while technically even that should still be reported with what those services would be worth many candidates of course 'forget' to do so to free up the cash donation allowance limit! It's sad the US allows unlimited funding, ultimately it means only very...
It can be a bit similar in the U.K. in that technically you could donate more by various means like breaking up a huge donation into 3 monthly payments, donating large amounts just before an election is called and of course concealing 'donations' by providing services useful to a political party...
Citizens United needs to be repealed, and all political donations should be limited to $100 and only from individuals. Anyone caught violating this gets shot into the sun.
I'd bet 100's of millions more we can't track/don't know about
He spent a Billion Dollars to buy our election. By January our Leaders on Both sides gave him contracts worth $2.2 Billion for this year alone. He's already received $560 Million from tax payers he calls frauds for asking about their SS$
Give credit where credit is due: SCrOTUS and Chief “Justice” Roberts for Citizens United! None of this would have been possible without the astonishing and miraculous determination that corporations are people!!! And here we are, enjoying our newly ascended plutocracy!
Serving your community should not be dependent on the amount of money raised by corporate donations. Elected representatives in the US are in hock to capitalism even before they enter Congress.
Now ask: why was bezos and Zuckerberg next to trump for his inauguration. They don't even make the list .
Acceleration.
Butterfly revolution.

The graphic addresses that at the top. It appears to be because a lot of the funds from him used in 2024 were actually donated in 2022. This is a list of 2024 donors.
Every February 29 we should invite the current richest person for a tour of scenic Iceland, with it culminating with a swim in a volcano. Their money hoarding would miraculously stop.
I think this chart might explain the “messaging problem” that the dems have. As in; the messaging isn’t getting out since they own the media and when it does it gets crushed by republican money machine. Dems aren’t perfect or even particularly good, but it’s a tough fight!
so cool that all of these people have faces, names and addresses! bringing this up for no reason in particular. i just think its neat that theyre human beings just like everyone else
Take heart. Half the US population could have outdone those amounts if they just had an unbreakable way to organise the will of the people.
Autocracy can be defeated by distributed digital democracy.
This is what we intend to do.
Not even "regular rich" folks can help compete with this effectively. Even a "regular millionaire" couldn't touch this level of corruption if they used every penny they had.😡Money in politics has got to be reigned in, it's untenable. Like CEO salaries.
It’s absolutely disgusting and a shame how much is spent on political campaigns. I hope there’s massive reform coming from the next admin/congress. I’m not holding my breath..
Imagine having that much money and being like "Food, houses, medical care, public transportation, education for those who can't afford it? Nah, fuck that."
Half a billion still buys you yachts and mansions and jets. The spoils as it were. It’s still obscene wealth. Even the most successful people in the world should not be allowed to keep more than that. Even that is too much.

George Soros, the Gaslighting in Overdrive Party (GOP)’s excuse for everything. 🤔🤷🏼♂️
Pay to get someone to be one of the most powerful people in the world to fix nothing? Yes
Totally makes sense

You’d be AMAZED at what can be solved if we #TAXTHERICH
Not Soros though, their family line is good.
A functional Constitutional Democratic Republic mitigates greed so it doesn't harm any citizens and their inherent civil liberties.
We are seeing all the evil outcomes of unrestrained avarice with Trump and his psychophants.

Just sayin'
If you add up only the top 7 republican donors, it goes over a billion dollars total.
Seven people, over a billion dollars. Seven people, over a billion dollars.
Seven people, over
It was all about winning that election.
He Doesn't Actualy Have the money.
He has been Kiting money to get these things done.

AND JUST MIGHT GET MANY OF THEM!
This is literally pennies to them.
Pennies to them, when it would literally be lifesaving for just normal people.
I was reliably told he is the democratic money man and runs the entire political establishment?
