I won't spoil anything, but I will say that I've felt seen more in this than any other book series I remember. 😅
I'm not sure what that says about me 😅😅
The Murderbot series is fantastic! And the fact that the first ones are novellas makes them really easy to get started on. I wish shorter books (150 page or so) were more common.
I love the Murderbot books SO MUCH and I have ridiculously high hopes for the AppleTV series (later this year possibly) with Alexander Skarsgård as Murderbot.
Ok, but for fantasy/romance recs, T. Kingfisher's White Rat books. (Clocktaur Wars duology, Swordheart, Saints of Steel series). Heartwarming romance, middle-aged protagonists, laughs, drama, Holy Lawyers, and dead gods.

Update is I finished and I also want to stop having feelings about reality and only wish to have feelings about my tv shows. Murderbot ilu. The second book has been put on hold.
absolutely thrilled you getting into these! I have reread them all SO many times. Funny, poignant, and a lot of “ohhhh I feel a little too represented right now” moments.
They literally get better and better. The most recent book ended with me hooting and hollering. But I'm also sore that the show Murderbot is Alexander Skarsgard instead of my fan casting of Asia Kate Dillon
I just finished the 3rd one and put in an order for all the rest from my local indie bookstore. They called me to tell me they are in so I'm about to have a great weekend.
“I guess you can’t tell a story from the point of view of something you don’t think has a point of view” goddamn @marthawells.com this is so good!!!!!!!!!
This seems to be a good place to ask this question. It's about timeline in the books. There's a character who shows up in Murderbot memories in Network Effect. The name is Tifany. But in the very next book (Fugitive Telemetry), Tifany shows as a new character. It niggles at me. Any thoughts?
“I didn’t want to see helpless humans, I’d rather see smart ones rescuing each other.” - #Murderbot, on its preferred television show arc and I am in full agreement
I like that it *can* do wrong, chooses not to, and does not seem to think it deserves anything for choosing not to. (Too many people *do* believe that.)
Yesssss, Murderbot is the most relatable character ever. Though I keep worrying I'll share this in an interview someday and everyone who isn't familiar w/ the book will think I'm some kind of murderous deviant
Oh yay! I’m glad you got the Kevin R. Free narrated one- he’s the absolute best voice for Murderbot. There’s also a full cast version now but IMO this one’s better.
Murderbot is life. Thank you @marthawells.com for bringing them to us! I'm envious of the first time read through, but I just got done with 3rd time through. (Hey if MB can watch Rise and Fall of Sanctuary Moon that many times....)

Currently reading the 7th Expanse novel.
Will pick it up.
It's my favourite series by a mile!
Murderbot is surprisingly relatable!! ;-)
I'm not sure what that says about me 😅😅
Wait until you meet ART (Asshole Research Transport)
murderbot: i want to watch my serials and i do not want to talk to anyone
Also Murderbot at any given moment:
No, wait, scratch that - Murderbot just deleted its wisdom files to make room for another 120 episodes of Sanctuary Moon.
It's 1 of my 2 favorite Murderbot Diaries so far!
