Insomnia prompted me to finally try this game last night, and my initial thought is that it's kind of fun, but the sequence of 50 or so buzzing messages with things you need to know before you can actually play the game made me want to throw my phone.
I bought a ROG Ally thinking I am going to play some banger AAA titles and all I have done with it is play Balatro, which I could have done on my phone. No regrets.
it took me a while to discover, but steel cards really are incredible. one neat trick is that red seals on steel cards make the in-hand stuff trigger twice, as does stuff like Mime.
Each ante you get a free double tag. Double tags make it so the tag you get from skipping a blind duplicates. So if you skip a blind that gives you a free negative joker and have 2 double tags, you'll get 3 negative jokers.
Anaglyph Deck, gives a double tag for every boss defeated. Wait for a negative tag to come up, use it, and then you get like 4-5 negative jokers at a time. I also got a lot of cash and managed to reroll for like 3 negatives in a row
I've gotten to scientific notation numbers a handful of times. Always seems to come down to mime joker and baron joker to retrigger steel kings with red seals.
The game is addicting because it actually gives you all the high stakes thrill and excitement of Las Vegas and for once you aren't losing real money. The more you play, the more you win.
I guess that's my problem I don't know what gambling is I have actively avoided it my whole life lol. Shit I don't even touch scratch offs because I know that the lottery the state always wins lol
Yeah. Vegas is essentially Balatro for real but when you lose (And notice how often you lose in Balatro) you lose a lot of your money and can wreck your life. The only bad thing that has happened when I played Balatro is that I played it too long once and I missed ten minutes of an AC Milan game.
