I played it at a friend’s house and got around half way through before his little brother deleted my save. Gonna hit him up for $450 so he can finally make things right.
Maybe, but I bet one could get a GameCube emulator on a Steam deck quite easily, which still seems like a better bargain-- if classics are the main draw.
eh ... I prefer the switch form factor ... and SteamOS makes me want to format my Deck sometimes ... still not sold on a switch 2 ... but honestly ... none of this matters because in a few years none of us will afford to play games on our free time ...
I’m enjoying getting all these different glimpses of how you do life. Writing, baking, gaming. A balanced left/right brain existence. Wish I could do that.
I'm not gonna lie, Mario Kart World has my attention.... but that price tag on the console and the games.... Makes me seriously worry for when we get a new Sony console.
Starts to justify the cost of the annual subscription. Maybe worth noting that The Steam Deck can pretty solidly perform GameCube (and NES/SNES/N64/GBA/DS/Wii/Wii U/Switch) emulation but it takes a little setup, and Nintendo isn’t exactly thrilled about it.
On one hand yes because I've been wanting to replay WW since Tears because my wife has never experienced it. On the other hand, Nintendo systems that WW was released on (GC, Wii U) tend to be the ones that Nintendo fucks up.
But you’ll have to have the switch Online membership with the expansion pack if you don’t already - $50 per year for an individual, or $80 per year for a family.
The cheap Japan one is region locked to Japan only. Both in terms of accounts and language. There is another one that is priced similarly to US that doesn’t have these restrictions. Yen is also very weak, so this is a way to not screw Japan audience and prevent international scalping of Japan units
The fact that they didn't include the price in the video and instead direct you to their website heavily suggests it's a figure that could change prior to launch. Like that's the price they kind of expected as of earlier today but they lack the confidence to commit to anything.
yeah and that's why they want a variant that's priced "reasonably" in Japan while not being scalped, so a cheap version with a region lock is what they have decided on
Literally spent my morning trying to get my steam deck to run twilight princess. Eventually got my controller to work after an hour. But so many weird graphical bugs, it’s unplayable. Conversely, windwaker worked right away. Many others too. But some require a lot more effort, and i dont know why!
by way of the dumbest tariffs ever and the resulting wine consumption I thought you said / wrote wanker port as some kind of tech bro put down. I thought it was clever, then realized I need another glass of wine. Cheers!
I will never not buy the latest Nintendo hardware. Their games are just too good, every time. It’s not FOMO, it’s EDOMO: existential despair of missing out. Nintendo are their own best developer, and they are can’t miss games.
I still have a working Wiiu with the hd remake of windwaker and I recently finished the switch remake of thousand year door, but I'm sure there's other GameCube games out there worth revisiting
One of the easiest to use and most well-polished emulators of all time. There is zero reason to give Nintendo money, that company can choke on all the dicks.
A port would be amazing. I think it's most likely just the emulation, though. I'd love for Wind Waker to get the Thousand Year Door treatment, and i'd love for Link To The Past to get the Link's Awakening treatment. Put it on whatever system, i'll get that system.

Aww shit, having to get those damn triforce pieces at the end!
That remaster on the Wii U really did us a solid by truncating that part.
(I was gonna buy it anyway, but we've officially reached the "shut up and take my money" stage.)

I mean, I'm still gonna buy it, but I was really hoping to play Wind Waker again.
We might need you to share.
What will it take to get you to stop taking a paycheck from the most prestigious white supremacist rag in America today?
Waiting on your verification, B
nobody got time for that
