Acting by himself, Chief Justice Roberts has issued an "administrative" stay in Abrego Garcia, temporarily pausing Judge Xinis's order (which had required the U.S. to return Abrego Garcia by this evening).
In a nutshell, it's a temporary pause to buy the full Court more time to rule on the dispute.

Now, at least, the administrative stay means that the Court can rule against Trump and leave enough time to effectuate Abrego Garcia's return.
sooner? If five justices quickly indicate they want to deny the stay (even if the others aren't ready), can the denial be issued just as quickly?
They are fucking deciding whether one is entitled to due process!
All the government has been ordered to do is bring him back.
Supreme Kangaroo Court of the United States
Also AEA does not extend to American citizens.
They've set a deadline for Abrego Garcia's filing, but nothing compels them to lift this stay?
I'm not an attorney, so I'm asking for understanding.
I get the justification for admin stays, but not for this.
#dueprocess
The issue isn't whether Trump will comply it's whether Bukele will.
The Federalist Society has been working for decades to promote alt-right policies and move the complete judiciary to the right.
Now is the ‘proof if the pudding’.
If the DEMS ever get to win an election again and hold a majority they should change the way SCOTUS works.
Expand the court, one judge per state for 7 years max.
But MoscowMitch worked on the policies set by the Federalist Society.
He was a tool for them. LeoLeo is a Catholic orthodox inspired by (or even linked to) Opus Dei.
i don't think it's worthwhile to sugar coat what SCOTUS is doing now and has been doing for over a decade leading up to where we are now.
24 hour stay is plenty of time for him to have an "accident"
They'll draw the line later at any punishment for contempt for senior administration officers. New QI rules.
All they need to say is “do what the judge told you.” This isn’t complicated
The fact that Roberta didn’t order them not to remove anyone until this is resolved tells us nobody thinks this has to do with diplomacy
This isn’t a diplomatic issue. These people are being detained at our instruction and with our payment. They can be returned ANY time with a simple request
{I love reading your newsletter, it is so informative... I will subscribe as long as you keep writin, sir}
The administration admitted they made a mistake. There's been plenty of time to bring this man home to his family!
This is sickening
All of them should be returned even if they've committed a crime because there was no due process and that is illegal.

They will choose Civil War because they do not want to live in a country that is not 100% guaranteed permanent KKKristofascist minority-rule control and would rather it all burn to ashes if they can't have that.
It's as simple as something being lawful vs unlawful. They should have to return this man & anyone else unlawfully deported to this foreign prison. Period.
Fuck them all!
An innocent man
This is a clear cut case.
I think it's to deprive a lower court from finding the administration in contempt & keep Trump from jumping off the next constitutional cliff.
Defenestration
Syndrome is likely soon
When a Supreme Court Justice acts alone to make an issuance, it typically involves a writ of certiorari or a stay, which are actions taken in emergency situations
Like in the CO 14thA case banning Trump from its ballot.
Or the Presidents are Kings ruling last July.
Both had ZERO legal/constitutional rationale.
Revolution 101, thanks to the Founders.

I would impeach all the traitors who committed perjury during their confirmation hearings.
Rapes. lies about their rulings, lies about NOT being white nationalist theocrats, bribery, and their utter failure to uphold the fucking law and defend the Constitution.
(refuse to)
Did we ever get to the bottom of Clarence Thomas getting $11 million from the rich guy who owns the house his mother lives in?
The non-partisan court that was flying the upside down Trump friendly flag from alito
Remember that
They DO NOT represent the American people. Only the fascist traitors of this criminal Nazi regime.
There was never even a emergency to enact the Presidential powers Trump used. The US government admitted the man was sent by mistake. Bring him, and everyone else that had no due process, back.
The MOST corrupt #SCOTUS EVER!
"I won't forget this"
Roberts should be “accidentally” deported,
Then left to rot wherever he’s transported.
The judge should share the fate of Garcia.
Perhaps some torture in North Korea?
Pls god may it happen to those he cares about.
My latest wish for all MAGAts.
Watch for the df. Urcuit judge who called the doj claims a "stunning proposition"
To be among the first disappeared under Trump's newest power
The government criminally abducted dozens of people without any semblance of process, *none of whom* they could provide any evidence of committing a crime, let alone one justifying a death sentence in a foreign gulag.
They haven't denied they did it. They refuse to remedy it.
I would love to see them all at The Hague instead.

Start a Legal Defense Fund for
Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia
"They put Kristi Noem inside the walls of the prison and they got her back out," states Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, attorney for Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia.
What dispute?
Legally after this he may qualify for asylum from our government too.
Assholes.
not like he's languishing in a foreign torture prison
The appeals court ruling seemed pretty correct and iron clad.
