A guy got really angry at me today for using the phrase “50 year old South Park guy” and he looked about 50 years old and I said “do you watch South Park?” and he was like “look, that’s not important right now”

remember early on when Matt and Trey would do interviews about how long the series would continue and they went "it's not like we're going to be doing this when we're 35"
it was funny for a moment. that moment was over 20 years ago now and those who haven't progressed beyond that moment seem to be pretty fixated on the right to say slurs
I love Family Guy, and one thing I've grown to appreciate about it is that it wasn't afraid to be political and actually take a side. Sure that side was usually Seth MacFarlane's tepid liberalism, but I still prefer that to the South Park approach! (This is not a blanket defense of FG's politics)
Like I think it's funny how a lot of FG fans criticize the show for "shoving politics down their throats", but those same people sure love Stewie's rant about pronouns (though they conveniently always cut out the punchline, which is Brian mocking him as soon as he finishes)
Let me guess, telling people to stop using slurs = people are being annoying cringe tryhard libs who want to take away everyone's ability to tell "jokes"
Haha. I pointed out that some lady was a gun toting, Trump loving "christian" after she made an assinine coment. Some guy got all bent out of shape, called me a slur and told me I had no idea what I was talking about. She logged on 6 hrs later and said, yes I'm all those things. They are good!" lol
I was four months ago years old when I learned Team America World Police is a full throated defense of the Iraq War and that celebrities should shut up about opposing it.
I will admit to not seeing it that way at the time just because it was such a relief to see ANYTHING willing to criticize the Iraq War at any level, but it can definitely be read that way in Parker and Stone's usual "maybe the critics are right but they're annoying and that's worse" way
Can’t remember what age I was, but the episode where they said Starbucks got to where it was because they sold a good product got me immediately thinking, “waaaait a minute…”

The Book of Mormon is straight up racist.

The 1999 musical is worth a rewatch, but most of it has aged terribly. And everything since c. 2016 hasn't been watchable in the first place.
I think it was the exact moment that Cartman went from obvious antagonist to The Guy That Embodies Stuff Matt Stone and Trey Parker Find Annoying.
they're just making fun of ANYONE who wants ANY change and that's not helpful
not my cup of tea but my trash tv of choice is ghost adventures so who am I to judge?
My sister's boyfriend from college was real invested in trying to convince me it was clever though
when did the first movie come out? i think that's about when i stopped watching. Banger soundtrack though.
