I've been getting multiples of these a day

setting aside everything else obviously-fake about this scam text, “this matter may be reported to the DMV” is one of the least-intimidating threats ever made

A. I don't own a car
B. I don't live in a state that uses EZ Pass.
Who to report this to ?
Not reply if you don't recognize the number or sender or if they seem suspicious.
Respond with "Stop" or "Unsubscribe" to unsubscribe from automated text messages sent to your mobile phone number.
And there is also an option to block and report junk.
But it's not new. FBI warning about it from last year: https://www.ic3.gov/PSA/2024/PSA240412
I just junk mail them and delete
I’ve never owner a car, deriven, or even bothered to get a license so I tend to send them a sticker or other, then report and block.
I’m more worried about the trump/musk scam.
Hasn’t been updated recently (no need) but working on iOS at least.

My child is getting that they don't have a driver license much less a car.
somehow that was a bat signal for the scammers
Didn’t even use a toll way.
Knew immediately its a scam as I never drive on tollways or expressways (they also wouldn’t know my phone number even if I did - plates are connected to cars, not people)
Literally and figuratively.
(But for real, stuff like this is why we’ve had to work harder to convince people our legit communications from the state are real)
