NEW: DOJ files an emergency motion in the hopes of avoiding a noon deadline to provide more info to Judge Boasberg, in private, about deportation flights that appear to have violated the court's orders. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.278436/gov.uscourts.dcd.278436.37.0.pdf

This is the new DOJ.

Hell, I want Rubio hauled in to explain the "oopsie" repost.
It's just going to be extension after extension until we are all dead in Hell, otherwise known as "how Trump has mastered the courts since 1980."
"Continuing to beat a dead horse . . . trying to ferret out information . . . unnecessary judicial fishing expeditions" aren't there to convince the judge.

Is this just giving the Trump DOJ more runway to not comply?
This is just a sales job -- they are trying to sell their intransigence and lawbreaking to their MAGA base.
It's basically just the same high-sounding (but totally hollow & ludicrous) shit that they'll say on Fox.
ALL aircraft flying approved IFR flight plans have AT LEAST:
* Fuel to reach chosen destination
* THEN to fly to alternate (also already chosen)
* Then fly ANOTHER 45 minutes
Weather may increase further.
We don't want trump to have the power to export anyone at all using the excuse of an 18th century law that doesn't apply to the current situation.
So it's entirely RELEVANT to want to know what characteristics these people were determined to have, and how it was determined.
Nice try, it's very 'MATERIAL', and the facts will decide the path forward.
Just a joke.
Ironically they mention the court should have spent more time fact checking, when they offered no facts. Those ICE dragged onto those planes didn’t have due process.
Maybe there’d be more facts if they had lawyers.
I know you get a lot of love already, just want to add my voice to that chorus.
Thank you.
"Dear Judge, this is totally unimportant minutiae, the planes didn't have radios so it was impossible to call them back, and oh yea, one last thing: you're stupid."
I'm convinced! How about the rest of you?
Hehehe. The flight schedules and passenger counts are "state secrets" now?!?!
This whole thing means to me that the facts are damning indeed - because nobody will swear to the cover story
"a picayune dispute over the micromanagement of immaterial factfinding"
"Something tells me that Judge Boasberg will not agree that this is "a picayune dispute over the micromanagement of immaterial factfinding," nor that his requests for information "have no bearing on any legal issue at stake in the case.""
Negging the judge seems like a poor strategy too.
"MINUTE ORDER: In response to Defendants' 28 Notice at page 2, the Court ORDERS that by 12:00 p.m. on March 19, 2025, Defendants shall file ex parte and under seal (or submit to the Court) a declaration..."
Oh sure, this motion has a chance.
Trump has got
Six SCOTUS justices
And we have not.

Worse, the risks created
by addressing the Court’s pending questions would undermine the Executive Branch’s ability to
negotiate with foreign sovereigns in the future
Hell, they paid El Salvador 6 million.
They don’t make any more sense but I feel it gives an insight to the discussions being held on how to respond to a Judge 🤦♂️
Judge: please tell me the facts which will allow me to decide whether you violated my order.
Gov: NO! YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW THOSE FACTS. [Insult, insult, insult...]
Which would be ironic considering all the court cases where they’re saying they don’t have to pay for services rendered.
Someone needs to go back to school to be taught that more and bigger words do not make the writer seem more intelligent.
What a waste of letters.
