Hypothetical questions for the gamers on here
Let's say someone's spouse has accepted that their husband (who has a Switch and an Xbox) needs a third game console now rather than later because of impending tariffs
PS5 or PS5 Pro? What accessories (if any)? Memory? Games?

Also get a controller charger dock. They rock!
Not sure getting the PS5 meaningfully widens the game library over what you already have in the Xbox and Switch.
(The technical correct answer would be the Switch2 but sadly unlikely to arrive before tariffs.)
God of War 2018 may be a masterpiece. For the rest, if it looks interesting, go for it.
I’d spring for a standard PS5 and a steam deck personally. Surprisingly powerful, would expand your options a bit.
Games:
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Astro Bot
The Yakuza Series
Two-Point Hospital/Campus/Museum
Though I'd get the PS5 pro if you are interested in getting a PS5.
Get the pro or be prepared to upgrade the internal memory.
PS4 games can run off of a regular USB external drive, so install all of those there and leave the internal memory (high speed SSD) for the PS5 games.
Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West
Ghosts of Tsushime
Alan Wake 2 (It's a trippy game and the genre bending is hilarious and fun)
Control
The Pro is a big jump in cost (+more if you want the optional disc drive), which means you really need to be able to justify it if cost is a concern,
The pro isn't woryh the money unless you have a top of the line 4K TV and sound set up.
With the PS5, I recommend a second controller with the official charger, a spare SDD drive for storage (external is fine), and Spiderman 1 and 2, God of War, Horizon 1 and 2, and Ghost of Tsushima
Given the expectation of increased prices due to tariffs, whichever version of the PS5 has the big hard drive so you can download your games.
I basically play games while she's on her phone, and she looks up during the cutscenes
Otherwise PS5 pro! Might as well
The PS5 controllers are amazing, but can wear out fast.
(mostly because power outages are a pain in the backside because the external drive needs to be manually resynched)
Spider-Man, God of War, Horizon, etc. But also...
There is very little on PS5 (or Xbox, tbh) that you can't also get on a Steam Deck. Unless you are all about the PS5 exclusives, Steam Deck is the one.
My kids are loving Grand Turismo 7 now
If you have a high end TV, the PS5 Pro has better graphics
Clearly a case of diversity of thought. Better to keep broad horizons in what are going to be trying times.
Plus you can watch movies on it.
Especially if you want to get the disc drive add-on which adds another $80 I think?
