Oh yeah I forgot month before pup 🐶 surgery the water heater started leaking. Early in the morning I went to turn off the lights. SOB had everyone do their hot water things. Shut everything down and started drain the water heater.Ferguson brought a water heater got late pin hole in 1 line. Cold only
Organized a trail race. Lots of cool runners, volunteers, spectators; perfect weather and a nearby farmer’s market. All around great day. Thank you #muscootfarm

I went to The Hague today for Gaza. We were all (100.000 people!) in red to urge our government to draw a red line and take a stronger stand against the genocide and pro peace.
It's getting pretty warm here in the mid Atlantic so I put up my summer reflective window film today! It's not a fun task but keeps my house much cooler. 🥵🌡️ Only covers 3/4 of the window because it's hard to match the seams and the sun doesn't come in directly at that low point.
I use the static cling type so it's easy to put up and take down in winter, when I get much less light. Every year I have a sales person knock who wants to sell me "better" window film, because I'm clearly not a pro, but I sit in my cool house 😊 and don't care how it looks from outside 🤭
Proud of the first cherry tomato of the season on the first cherry tomato plant that I've ever successfully overwintered (I've tried for the last 5 years.) It was delicious too!
A mother Wren decided to build a nest and raise babies in a decorative letter box by my front door. I was able to get a picture without disturbing them 🫶🏼
This tiny book was a desk cleaning side quest. I’ve had the materials out for over a year and decided making the book would be more fun than putting the supplies away. Yes, I used the project I’ve been procrastinating on to procrastinate on another project.
Maine Fiber Frolic is 2 weeks away and I'm looking over materials used in past natural dyeing workshops I've led there. These yarns are part of an ongoing project: "Dyeing Maine Fibers with Maine Plants." After almost 50 years of dyeing I'm going to start experimenting with inks and paints.
What’s your hockey situation? I started playing as an adult so I’m terrible! I’ve been off with an injury this year but usually play in a women’s league (35+) and an all gender beer league.
I started playing at 25 (20 years ago) with a women's team that regularly got practice ice and played in a Florida women's league, plus beer league. COVID and then a serious medical situation knocked me out for 5 years, but I just came back to the women's team and played 3 tournaments since January
Wow good for you! I wish I had started earlier but didn’t really have the opportunity until my son started skating. I’ve been off this year because I tore something in my glutes and then they diagnosed arthritis in my hip so I’ve been strengthen. Aging is *fun*!
This is an encouraging story (minus the injury). I'm learning to play with my 5 yo. We have a private coach and everything. Don't mind being terrible, just don't want to get laughed off the ice!!
Ok. So I cut down most of an old dead cherry in the upper orchard, and was given dwarf wild iris blooming in return! I got the flowers on my grandmother's ancient climbing rose to pop, Queen Elizabeth, I'm told. That rose is older than I am, and I'm ancient. Moved after 50 years in one spot!
😂that was what we expected! He was the the star of the beach, got lots of attention and thankfully the clouds & some wind made temps bearable. He made it 3 hours!
It's not done but here's a little chair I've been making. I'm a bit stalled on it at the moment, because I have poor work ethic in my hobbies. Still enjoying it.
I made a start on drawing this car portrait as a prize for the fun category at Swedish Day car show last weekend. The task was “bring the most Swedish thing that is not your car.” They won with Lancelot the Hursqvana robo mower. (Pic is hand drawn digital, no AI used. NOT FINISHED YET).
This is a dead northern short tail shrew. I found him at the bottom of my steps. They are carnivorous, & have a venomous bite. I found no signs of trauma, but his body was still warm. Was it foul play? Suicide? I guess we’ll never know.
My sister was attacked and bit by one when we were children. It was bizarre. Luckily my Aunt killed it and it was tested at the hospital for rabies. All clear 🙏🏼
Yes, 2 indoor cats. One is a coward, with an overinflated sense of his ability to do cat-like things like hunt. The other is a street smart Tom who used to live in a feral colony, & thinks he hit the lottery living indoors now; he’s not interested in going outside. Both were eliminated as suspects.
Despite forgetting to feed mine this March, I got a decent number of blooms on my very old rosebush. (Planted by my grandfather's first wife, transported to my new home when the family farm was sold. Est. age: approx. 100 years.)
I brought my first ever piece of handmade stained glass home... I can't believe that I actually made this... I usually crochet... so cutting & grinding glass... and soldering... were well out of my comfort zone... I'm so proud of it...
I'm starting on another small square project tomorrow... to learn traditional leaded stained glass methods... I've chosen a hillside design... to practice curves... because my final project has been approved... and it's very curvy...
I signed up for a 10 week course... because it only cost twice as much as a one day workshop... and I have surprised myself by really enjoying it... I'm looking forward to starting on a traditional leaded stained glass panel tomorrow... before working on a small project of my choice...
I went salsa dancing for the first time ever!! I’m not a fan of dancing and I’m TERRIBLE at it but I went with a friend who really wanted to try it and we had a BLAST. Proud of myself for stepping outside my comfort zone.
I spent the weekend in York with @annaedmondson.bsky.social . First time in a long time! I’d forgotten how lovely York is and how nice it is to be looked after by a friend!
