Labour losing one of its safest seats shows what happens when a government cuts disability benefits and winter fuel payments, keeps the two-child benefit cap, and panders to anti-migrant rhetoric:
Reform wins and always will.
This isn’t the change people voted for and it shows.

If someone votes for reform because of what labour is doing then they’re idiots
There’s plenty of other candidates
No-one thinks libdems are going to be in power next GE.
- renters’ rights bill
- intro some water regs
- ending Res/nurses strikes
-pension increase
- minimum wage raised
- triple lock kept
- tenant security
- public transport
- Great British Energy
The country was so angry it rewarded those actions with an 80 seat majority.
The people who gave us that now screaming about public welfare is just wild.
Whats the difference?
It will conclude, yet again, that Labour needs to be more like Reform.
But they’re too cowardly.
You need to tell your leader, colleagues & that McSweeney bloke.
It’s led by the original Wetherspoons conman
If someone thinks that labour is too far to the right then vote for someone on the left.
Greens seem pretty left-wing to me .
Starmer did this. Oust him now and get a strong progressive agenda together.
Out Reforming Reform wasn’t what anyone voted for, and it’s not going to work.
The whole of the Labour left has been disenfranchised, and disastrous consequences will follow.
Now they are with him again. They are like turkeys voting for Xmas.
The big working champ hero.. Wants them paying £6 grand for an ambulance, with NHS sold off to cronies who helped elect him
And yes all the cuts and pandering of course were never going to go down well. Starmer is facilitating a Farage govt.
“No gender questioning, social transitioning or pronoun swapping.” This is purely immigration. Jenkins said it all, tents are good enough for asylum seekers🤬
Like we voted for.
A labour government that actually takes care of the people who need taking care of.
Not the rich.
Not constantly batting Farage off. Just, plain old government.
Labour have a super majority and could do anything!
👉Reverse Brexit (to whatever degree) = increased GDP
👉Renationalise services and infrastructure = security and investment in OUR services
👉Tax the rich - proportional investment in Britian.
It’s not tricky!
Nationalise everything, great idea and how will that be funded?
Tax the rich? How do you tax off shore money?
And all of that takes time
People didn`t care.
Why the change of heart?
Lib dems put people into debt for going to university.
Which seats can Greens win?
The Greens came in second place in 40 seats at the 2024 General Election, in places like Huddersfield, Bristol East and Walthamstow.
5k difference could be easily made up.
How many more seats do we need to be able to form policy?
Public response?
An 80 seat majority as a reward for putting people into poverty.
Seems weird to get upset at such a small amount being taken now.
They will shout about it when Labour do it. So unfortunately labour need to play by these rules
Please abandon your illusions about Starmer's Labour, and either join the Green Party or help build a new Left party before 2029.
Pleasing no-one is not a strategy.
We have to inspire people with a vision of something better. We need hope. We need care.
Big business will look after big business. WE need OUR government.
Are you saying Reform is going to put disability benefits up and bring back winter fuel payments and get rid of the two-child benefit cap? And not pander to the anti-migrant rhetoric? All Reform do is pander to the anti-migrant rhetoric.
Have a plan to help the poor, nationalise energy / water / infrastructure. And see the votes come back. But #1
Sort the BBC and media
It doesn't seem like labour are fighting hard for the people.
The energy market is a mess and likely to deliver profits to businesses and no benefit to customers
This caused many voters to stay home and simply not vote
Time to move to a genuine party of the Left.
As the Left ALWAYS challenges Authority!
What are you rebelling against.
Whaddya got!

They ain’t got them and people will regret their vote but this is were Starmers changed LP have took us
the briefcases wont let you/similar re-gain control. youll be de-selected.
we all know this.
greens need better PR, they have (most of) the policies.
you joining them would be a massive boost.
do it.
You don't need to screen grab your twitter post.
We heard you the first time 👍
Reform are just UK MAGA, and se have seen the mess dtrump is making
And I'd position myself as being "centre-left"(no hatred please).Just mentioning this b/c I'm convinced there's a broad support base for⬆️.I'd like to think many people can get behind it.I for one would regain some lost trust+respect in this UKGov.
And nothing to do with them throwing everything away in pursuit of the bigot vote.
Attacking citizens established human rights isn't a winner.
#SackMcSweeney @UKLabour
His strategy is obviously WRONG!

Heck at the moment we're all cursing the very existence of the party.
- They could tackle tax avoidance
- They could have introduced a more progressive income tax.
- They could have changed capital gains to be treated the same as income.
- They could have introduced a wealth tax.
etc...
There is still no reason to vote for Labour either.
If she's actually left the party that's good.
Fixed that.
im not saying you should find joy in it.
im saying i understand ppl who feel completely locked out of the political process simply voting, in spite, for revenge.
if they were they would have told labour to fuck off by now.
i can’t explain that to you in a single post. i also just don’t care enough.
if you don’t think those ppl exist them fine.
not really sure how voting green is getting revenge on shitty centrists who never hold labour to account.
you’re asking for rationality from ppl who are enraged by labour and the complicit ‘centrist dad’ crowd.
I don't see the reward in getting revenge on shitty centrists by voting Reform. The harm caused by that vote is primarily directed at people like yourself. The centrists will be fine.
i vote green but i absolutely understand where those ppl are coming from.
Or at least not then kicking him on the ground
People on the ground floor have lost so much, they're going to react.
People are watching their elderly parents die on the living room floor whilst Starmer sleeps soundly.
If he doesn’t wake the f**k up and be a politician, this doesn’t end well!
#EndTheRedLines #GiveUsHope
"just stop immigration!"
which if truth were known they haven't got a bloody clue ,turning boats around at the sea border!
lets call it for what it is ,
We are slowly becoming a far right wing country ,
bunch of racist bigots .
The Tories are showing you the political fallout from that.
Looking at the results Farage could win 25% of the vote at Westminster and be Prime Minister.
Labour were handed an open goal after the general election, and Starmer botched it by pursing Thatcher lite policies.
You deserve to get wiped out like the Tories if you keep following this course.
Is that arrogance or just stupidity?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c39jedewxp8t
What difference would Reform make when we’re already there with such a hollowed out, hard right Labour Party?
Wake up, Keir!
