Lot of people asking what impact Reform running councils will have on their popularity. There are reasons to think it won't be smooth sailing. A lot of political novices taking over in challenging circs, and in the past Farage party councillors have often split or left in large numbers

Hopefully they'll have a few stroppy, capeable, intelligent constituents who will kick up a fuss
Will a Reform UK controlled council declare itself bankrupt?
Many councils have already done so, and many others are on the risk list.
How will the Labour government respond?
People seem to have forgotten Musk was the catalyst for Reform UK rising in the polls after the general election.
Also, remember after Musk said Farage should be replaced as leader, he subsequently publicly congratulated him for overtaking the Tories.
I don’t think is a coincidence.
Many also pro Trump. Anti “mainstream media”.
Councils hardly have any money for non statutory activities. Are they going to cut warm spaces? Gritting? Bin collection?
A Trump factor, as it were.
The irony being that borough wasn’t the Highways Authority so couldn’t build the bypass anyway 🤷
(And how many reform selections were done on the basis that it they were a paper candidate not suitable for office)
What he'll actually get is endless meetings about bin collections, potholes and flytipping.
They'll quickly get bored and stop turning up.
Same as why they've spent the last decade blaming local Labour councils for Westminster slashing the budgets to the bone.
And the fuckwits who elected them will see their services fail.
A Sacaramouchi
A Waltz
Longer?
If not she'll simply collect the paycheque every month and try to get herself onto the US right wing speaking circuit.
A gigantic budget to manage.
Local legislative control.
These are positions of government, not the ceremonial mayoral positions.
Plenty of potential to prove again how inappropriate she is to be in this role.
I'm sure you'll forgive me if I don't trust the UK to have done anything different for mayoralties.
A Metro Mayor is chairperson of the area's combined authority & has to perform at official, recorded meetings.
Very likely Jenkyns will be exposed as lacking competence.
See her on HIGNFY?
Farage & his cronies have little or no governing experience; they do campaign soundbites & grievance mongering. They'll blame Labour govt for any failures, but not sure that will work.
