So many things are at a tipping point in the U.S. fueled by greed and insane capitalism. Let’s fight to make sure this doesn’t remain the norm. Very sad.
If we want things to change, we have to change. We have to change our habits and behaviors. We have to accept responsibility and hold ourselves to the highest degree. Our greatest strength is our purchasing power. Let's start there.
I know that this is perfect time to change insurance providers. We could literally bankrupt UH by choosing differently, but i understand many people are locked in, so it would seem that this will quickly become a state, and then federal issue.
Check out the timestamp of when the stock popped. It was during an investor meeting at 8am eastern, and the New York stock exchange doesn’t open until 9:30 eastern. The catastrophic Change Healthcare data breach happened under Thompsons watch. Normally a stock doesn’t go up after a CEO is killed.
It’s worth noting that this man’s greed has caused the deaths of many people that paid his company for healthcare. He technically is a murderer. That doesn’t mean he deserves to die, but he is a murderer. We need a modern day Dexter.
He's a mass murderer who extorts money from his victims by promising to protect them and then, when the victims ask him to make good on his promises, he tortures them to death instead.
Yep. Putting folks into debt may come with consequences. Take peoples ability to live a healthy life or worse bankrupt a family. Some folks may take offense to it and take matters in their own hands. 32% claim denial.
"A lawsuit was filed against Thompson in May 2024 for alleged fraud and insider trading due to failing to disclose an antitrust investigation into the company by the United States Department of Justice."
United Healthcare saved my life.
I recognize that I am fortunate relative to so many who were denied care. But I will never celebrate someone’s murder.
My hopes for this platform are quickly evaporating.
No, they had to cover your treatment as medically necessary and there wasn’t a sufficient rationale for them to deny it. Simple as that. It’s United Healthcare, not the United Way.
So if you had coverage and no surgery, you would have lived? Just trying to understand how a parasitic industry that produces no value saved your life.
I was self-employed for the two years prior to my diagnosis. Started my job and had the diagnostic test. All covered thanks to my job instead of my high deductible ACA healthcare plan. Yes, our system is wasteful, only started as substitute for raises when wage freezes were instituted during WW II.
I live in the UK. No one needs to have health insurance as we are covered by the NHS, which we pay into via a tax system. US citizens are getting scammed by profit making corporations that proritise profit over lives. No one should have to bankrupt themselves to stay healthy. They are parasites.
Imagine taking up for a company meant to make money from your health. Then say they're the ones who saved your life when they're the sole reason that free healthcare for all Americans does not exist, along with many people dying daily due to being denied for their health issues. Wild 🤷🏼♀️
Ok, so United didn’t save your life, and deny more claims than any other insurer to line their pockets while working Americans die of preventable illnesses. Thanks for clearing it up for me.
I watched it more time than I should have. I'm still so very curious why he left 3 live rounds. Did he pack them? Did they fail? Was the silencer sold as an oil filter? So many questions.
Now that’s interesting, it also a bit heartening. I think at the end of the day the people coming into power in January are gonna have to realize that being anti-billionaire is a popular position
It is a shame that private insurance agencies exist to motivate ghouls like the deceased to die in pursuit of profiting off hundreds of thousands, who'd otherwise perish from highly preventable illnesses or destitution.
Yeah, and the shooter intentionally left 3 shell casings at the scene with the words Deny, Defend, and Depose on them. The three basic tactics insurance companies use to dodge claims.
You can't make this stuff up.
Yeah, what billionaires didn’t seem to realize is that them going gloves off now as Trump is becoming a president and giving them free reign, it means that it’s gloves off from both sides.
Trump has normalized retribution & revenge, & made it acceptable. I’m wiling to bet the shooter has a perceived grievance against the CEO of United Health Care and this was his way of getting even. Sadly, I suspect more people, MAGA-types in particular, will resort to this kind of terrorist act!
Stop disassociating trump from the gop?!? Despite the fact that you didn't need to post this, as you contributed nothing here by offering platitudes towards corporatism generally, by cleaving him from the actual enablers you create the space for them to distance themselves from him eventually
I don’t see any light, nor lines of separation between Trump, MAGA-Republicans and Republicans in general. They are one and the same thing. I’ll defer to the motto of the QAnon cult, “Where we go one, we go all.” Naming Trump is to name them and blame them all.
Dude, you need to read more. Seriously. Like, definitions mean things? Subject/object of a sentence type stuff.
When you say "trump", that's NOT the same word as "GOP", no matter what you're pretending here? You literally delineated them into THREE parts in your reply?!? No, you aren't naming them?
You did. You'll also see how many people's responses range from "Yes, such a pity. Anyway," to "probably deserved it" to "Oh, are we at guillotines yet?"
After seeing rich people do legal, monstrous things with no laws changed or illegal, heinous things with no justice, who'd expect anything else?
We have come a long way since guillotines...the means of eating the rich are compact and easily contained, work great from a distance, and super cheap and easy to get in the United States.
Here's the thing, it's not the action that will start the fire, it's the reaction to it.
Nobody wants to talk about shooting a CEO, that's crazy talk. But talking about somebody who did it, you suddenly find that very few people are opposing it.
They have been intentionally denying and slow rolling claims ever since their data breach to recoup losses. No apologies, no accountability, just reaming customers and providers.
I certainly don't. We're dealing with a systemic fuck up of massive proportions here, and I'll be surprised if it turns out the cold-blooded hitman was working for the Greater Good.
My fake internet money is on someone he knew ordering the hit, or something equally trite.
Very unlikely. He sold $15m of shares compared to $85m sold by another insider. Both trades are peanuts within the context of a company worth over $550 Billion.
It also involved the City of Hollywood Firefighters Pension Fund, and what I’ve read, it also included the California Public Employees Retirement System. If anyone lost their retirement, it could push them over the edge.
You watched and can't and your own question? You can tell by the picture before starting the video of what it is. It you can't control what you see how are you going to teach your kids?
If our country is too craven, stupid, or weak to simply outlaw for-profit healthcare, we need to put up wanted posters for these monsters and hound them out of their murder-for-money business.
Also the subject of a class action lawsuit right now over mass claim denials and active suppression of utilization. District of Delaware, case number 1:24-cv-00655-JLH, Iron workers local 401 annuity fund vs Bruce Broussard, Susan Diamond, and Humana.
Comments
Also the stock prices went up lmfao
Lots of dares!
Capitalism! Is! AWESOME!
Reminds me of the internet in 2000
"A lawsuit was filed against Thompson in May 2024 for alleged fraud and insider trading due to failing to disclose an antitrust investigation into the company by the United States Department of Justice."
One.
The "bigger fish" seem to sacrifice one of the "smaller" ones to keep em from spillin' the beans
Either way, nobody should be murdered... I do understand tho
I recognize that I am fortunate relative to so many who were denied care. But I will never celebrate someone’s murder.
My hopes for this platform are quickly evaporating.
Maybe they'll grow up to be more ethical people.
This is an ACTUAL platform now!
Sometimes people collect the brass casings after firing a gun
The funniest part, is that I've read comments on conservative subreddits out of curiosity, and they sound like us. Nobody gives a fuck.
You can't make this stuff up.
I just checked the news, can't believe this is true it's like something out of a movie.
They are SO gonna make a movie!
But will it reform the greedy U.S Healthcare Industry?
Sadly no.😔
This is only going to get uglier from here.
When you say "trump", that's NOT the same word as "GOP", no matter what you're pretending here? You literally delineated them into THREE parts in your reply?!? No, you aren't naming them?
All the best to you.
I'll keep looking.

That gives people the courage to act.
And so was this.

Graphic (singing): Am I not pretty enough? Is my heart too broken?

A hit like this is totally pro and sounds both personal and darker than some angry pensioner.
(I’m an incredible armchair sleuth, follow me for more uneducated hunches!)
The suspects keep multiplying!
If you think your life is in danger and all that...
I read that stock in United shot up after the assassination. Unclear if true.
Not skyrocketing but still. 😳
Lets prey
It catches on!
Please...?
