UM, I had NO idea facebook was tracking everything I did on the internet. EVERYTHING. I have diligently blocked and followed all ways to try to stop this messed up social media from taking from me, but this is the final straw… THESE JERKS! AGH! [screenshots on how to do it in the comments]

I mean it when I say I thought I did everything to avoid this. 😒
I'm not saying it's useless to try to minimize it—I agree w/ you on that! But don't think that isolating your direct activity to one browser fixes it either
Yo no uso Facebook pero acabo de desactivárselo a mi mamá.

Also because the ads kept telling me I needed testosterone supplements and exercises for the elderly.
Telegram
It's basically second browsing history for any website that has Facebook integration - so all of net, really
Filth
Never install the app.
That is so fucking shady, I don't understand how they even Had that info
Check the active cookies on any site you visit, you'll likely see some Meta ones!
At least if it were in a Bradbury story it would be something more interesting than "don't let a dork-ass capitulator with a money pit where most ppl have character have your credit card number."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meta_Platforms
They're not exactly new, browsers have had them for years.
I'd rather take these steps to disable a website I barely use than cut friends from my life (I'm very antisocial, making these friends was work)
More people are going to realize with hard evidence spreading and you'll be the first one to know a good substitute. You do what you can, it'll be okay.

Third places have been steadily disappearing in our society, people deserve normalcy and enjoying time with friends. It's a necessity and I appreciate you expanding on the issuem
And now try to imagine the information Google and Amazon have about you.
The last few times I've checked, facebook has got next to nothing on me.
Facebook Container that makes it harder for them to track your activites
It has always been that facebook could track you on any website that has some sort of facebook button/integration as öong as you're logged in.
If you need facebook, I still recommend using a private window + ghostery
If you can't trust them not to register your ovulation data, you can't trust them to delete it either, or even respect your preferences.

For those who aren't tech savvy, I also made a thread yesterday explaining how you install extensions via firefox, and one of them I bring up is "facebook container" which keeps facebook data & trackers fenced off to just facebook.
Meta is a surveillance company. They. Profit. On. Your. Data.
Not that any company is safe of course, but some are worse
Keeps FB's regular tracking following you.
Also whatever other people share about you on FB and insta are open season too.
Ultimately, if can make do without it, don't have a Meta social account at all.
Fucking hate it
It'll take you to a page that looks like this:

The blooming cheek of them!!

Or it’s not a non-profit.
Facebook tracks your eyes and your clicks and even your audio.
Disable all of it.
Heck might be time to disable Meta products.
But all the Apps are similar.
When I needed to use it I downloaded an additional browser that I only used for FaceBook activity, to sandbox it
Ive made exactly one post in 2024 and yet it was tracking a purchase I made yesterday ☠️
Desktop:
1. Go to https://accountscenter.facebook.com/ (while logged in to Facebook)
2. Your information and permissions (on the left)
3. Your activity off Meta technologies (on the right)
4. Manage future activity / Delete past activity
1. Hamburger menu on top
2. Settings
3. Account Centre
4. Your information and permissions
5. Your activity off Meta technologies
6. Manage future activity / Delete past activity
And swap your browser from Chrome if you care at all about privacy.

Any ideas people?
After doing all the above to "disconnect", Facebook is managing your expectations of this action, "We'll still receive activity from apps and websites."
It provides you with no useful service.
You can have your browser “ask them not to track you”, but they still can and do!
If you see their icons (usually in a string down the left side of the window or aligned at the bottom), they can and do track you.
I use Brave (+ uBlock Origin) as a backup chromium browser.
yeah, that's right, you don't know shit about me. get fucked, Zuck.
