Well, that decision came even faster then I had expected.

I mean, the confirmation is nice. But it is something we have known for ages, right?

A beast indeed!

Wooooow! What are the specs on those?

Companies and governments across the world seem to disagree with you on that.

I’m sure that could ban tesla from EU markets.

I don’t think these are intended to use the public network. They are intended for regional transport, not long haul. The move to long haul will be made with hydrogen, from what I can tell.

Combined weight for the current (300km range) models is 50 tons. (Metric)

Wow. That is double what Volvo current has on offer I think. (Currently 300 km range, I think). Quite impressive.

Such systems here are costly, but still relatively cheaper since we live on clay. We need to smash concrete poles into the ground to 30 meters depth to find a stable sand plate that we can actually build on.

That does make sense. Specially when live on granite. Getting thermal ground loops installed must be quite costly. Good thing though: that is a one off cost. The topside gear may need replacing, but the thermal loops do not.

What is a forced air system? I only know the following : - air to air ( essentially airconditioning ) - air to water (what I have) - water to water (ground bound thermal, sometimes done with pvt panels too)

Jikes. Including the floor heating plumbing etc, I hope? Mine did not cost nearly as much, despite a lot of work needing done for the pipes and distribution.

I have no idea what they cost in the USA. But heatpumps have been a thing for decades in Sweden, and it sure gets cold up there. The better ones are expensive mostly due to one-off expenses. Replacing the unit after 15 years costs maybe 5 grand. Maybe less with a groundbound one.
