Interesting! I had no idea those programs existed here. I'll have to look that up.

Don't some countries do a six year undergraduate med program? That feels like the kind of compromise we could probably be sold on here.

Not sure I like the implication here. 😉

34 is full fledged adult and settled into a career. I'd say they have a point.

I feel like it needed more than just articles to be written. It needed media blitzes at the same level as egg price anger had and the old story that negative emotions sell probably works against this ever happening.

I enjoy turkey also but absolutely don't force myself to deal with it years I don't have the energy. Lots of good alternatives.

Yeah, I do think higher education is the key factor we'd have to look at to see if this is just an interesting coincidence or if there's actually something there since that's what one party is rejecting.

I do wish there were a less nuclear block. I'd like to be able to reveal who it is or what they said when I see someone quote tweeting their stuff. 😉

That's been my largest revelation also. I found myself checking myself on how I wanted to reply to something and came to the same realization. I think many are conflating that with a bubble but it's just kinder discussion. The discussions and disagreements are still happening, but without toxicity.

Butterfly app has the juice now that this shit is happening here! Got excited you followed me for a second then saw the follow back button and realized what was up. 🤣

I still stand by my assessment as plausible if we're talking about a large cohort of basically college age kids.

So the downside to how effective this site's blocks are, is I have no idea what you're complaining about here. 😉

This reinforces my gut feeling that, despite all the praise I hear about Seattle's building, we could be doing so much more.

He's included in some of the Econ starter packs and I think there's been a lot of unwitting follows that came from people not noticing that.
comment in response to post
Yeah, and they're hopped up on a lot of FAANG influencer content. I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't just one extreme outlier but rather some unrealistic expectations from a subset that doesn't have good reference points yet.
comment in response to post
Was definitely saddened to see him included in some econ starter packs and I wouldn't be surprised if people blindly following all on those is a big part of his rapid growth. Him and Reich have made me look a lot closer at who is on those and selectively follow.
comment in response to post
I mean, he's got three quarters of a million followers on twitter so 100k here seems like a sane improvement. 😉

Even at the higher latitudes we have a civil war between the early risers and the night owls.

I actually got younger with this!

I remember learning about this a decade or so ago, and have recommended it to anyone who was sad about their intolerance. I think you're the first person I know of who actually went for it, though. Excited it worked!

This was less destructive than I worried it might be. People talked about hurricane type things like blown out windows and roofs blown off in some of the worst ones they'd lived through out here and definitely didn't see any of that. This is my first multi-day power outage though!

Congratulations to both of you!

Even better, he was an intelligence officer. And 100% serious as far as I could tell.

Happy to help! Look forward to seeing more of you here.

The latter. I've seen a number of people do it where it's worked great. I think this should play inline, for instance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIM6...

Poor MILF messenger.
comment in response to post
Yeah, I use that feed a lot but I've seen where your desire for making this user-specific would be a great improvement.

I doubt that's actually true if we make intake less chaotic. We're just mismanaging it and it scares people.

This is why we have to figure out how to get people comfortable with immigration. Though eventually that stops working also, at least it gives us more runway.

"Wait, Andrew Bird has a Christmas album?!" -- my wife just before adding it to the Christmas playlist.

Interesting system. So unlike the starter packs, these seem to be living lists that will grow without me having to redo it. Also means if someone maintaining the list makes choices I don't agree with I have to unblock. Assume I just have to do that once for the whole list?
comment in response to post
It's new to me!
comment in response to post
I might like it better if it had that. As it is, still trying to decide if I prefer it in the current incarnation.

I hadn't realized you were here yet! Good to see you.

Thanks for reminding me that Netflix isn't the only one that pulled this nonsense.

Doesn't vote the bums out usually extend to the party, even if you don't run the incumbent?

My wife did this and it's the latter in her case.

Yeah, happened to me too.

"Given independent Fed" doing some heavy lifting here and is my larger worry.
