Thank you!! Makes sense. As a bonus, cutting my one adult comp will nicely shrink my QL word count. โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ

Thank you so much for these, and for your additional helpful comments!! In addition to my question above about prologues, I have one more- if youโre submitting a manuscript as crossover YA, is including comps from both adult and YA acceptable? Or should the comps all be crossover as well?

Question (if you can answer!)- I know prologues are controversial/debated, but what's your take on how intense they can be? Especially if they're short and the actual starting scene with the MC follows these guidelines?

I like silence while I write but make playlists for my MCs, so kind of both? There are some songs that so strongly remind me of my characters that when I listen to them, itโs easier to write in their POVs. So if I have trouble with a scene, I listen to one of the playlists to access the character.

Special additional showcase: Marcelineโs 26 toes (!!) and tendency to pretend sheโs a meerkat

Any suggestions for how to do this for dual/multi POV? So hard ๐

YUP thatโs me! I couldnโt answer that question because I had too many favorites and didnโt want to leave any out ๐

Okay I canโt help but throw this in here- one of my bigger grumbles about the non-extended editions was the lack of justice to Faramir & Eowyn so I love that the extended ones put them in. Faramir & Eowyn forever!

Thank you so much for this peek at your process, and for sharing all this! It doesnโt sound cliche at all, by the way- the deeper into writing I go, the more I realize that a lot of it truly is โcome for the storytelling, but stay for the community (and more storytelling).โ

Hi! Thanks for doing this โบ๏ธ I have two questions: first, what do you like best about being an editor? Second, when you receive a new manuscript, where do you typically start? Do you read it all first, or edit as you go?
