Somebody, I’m begging you, set up a shop that sells non smart TVs, dumb phones, that printer that works, user friendly laptops & excellent tech support - you will make a fortune

Let me start by stating that the way your tv is delivered requires quite a lot of cpu and software to decode. It is not the 80s. Writing that is phenomenally expensive.
There are a bazillion channels, so you need to manage that somehow.
i have one too, just be aware the sleep/ standby mode spams your router (and basically DNS you inadvertently) and their printer software spams your even log, so turn it off when not in use and don't use their software if you don't want to deal with that.
I'm pretty sure you just hold the power button down until it powers off. That's how it works on mine. A press just makes it go to sleep, holding makes it turn off.
Seriously, we got a used one in 2016, and it is still solid now. Only three drum changes since then. Impossible not to find on the wireless, everyone's phone works as well as laptops.
Mine has a minimal controller, that I don't use the full function of. It allows you to remotely access the thermostat and icemaker functions by bluetooth and that's it.
I was actually thinking about this! If I don't use my television for television-ing why not just buy a big monitor which is basically all I'm using this thing for anyway?
Been fighting with my Smart TV for months; when I turn it on I just want it to go to the input I've already selected, I don't need to see a bunch of You Might Like crap LOL
As a computer person would absolutely love this, I think sometimes those of us who do (vaguely) (sometimes) know what we're doing with this stuff want simple and friendly more than anyone. We're really suffering as a species from the large-scale death of the old local repair store culture.
There used to be a chain in UK called Maplin which played some of these roles (at least for me) but private equity got it, sucked it dry and spat it out with all its staff. Honestly. Capitalism has reached such an advanced form.
My mom would be so thrilled and honestly so would I. Oh to go back to a TV that just flipped between inputs without ever needing an update or the internet, and a capable, trustworthy phone that had no gesture controls at all.
Old pre flat screen TV here and my phone is an v old nokia. I haven't the time or energy for 1001 bells and whistles on tech I just want to do one thing.
Dumb tvs will be a win already. And if it will also sell laptops like Framework ... But hardly it will happen in Serbia and be popular at the same time.
I’m not that old but I don’t want smart door locks or smart light switches. Like, those things just have one job and they shouldn’t need wifi to be able to do it?
"South East Asian Roadside Household Tech Shop" you name it. I said it cuz I think they still sold normal LCD/LED TVs and fridges. Not so much phones and laptops though, its "SE Asian Gadget Shop".
Microwaves with a nice big handle on the door, and chunky buttons that you actually push, and they actually work! None of this touchscreen nonsense that doesn't function half the time!
But even then, they are mostly mechanic, and paper gets jammed sometimes and a normal user may not now how to deal with it ( I have a 10yo brother tonner printer). It's the best printer in my opinion, but still not foolproof
Would absolutely drop money on this. Insane that I can’t find a 50”+ tv without all the smart stuff. I have an Apple TV and a BluRay player. That’s enough. A tv doesn’t need to connect to the web.
I'm desperate for non-smart TVs please please please every tv now comes with an operating system it can barely run and endless ads that slow the whole thing down. Just want to plug in my doohickies
I’m a younger person who usually understands tech, but I guarantee I’d be shopping there too lol 🤣 I miss when I could buy something for just one purpose, and it’d be good at that purpose too
I want these things *because* I'm good with tech. I don't need these crappy add-ons that just get in the way of what I want to do. If I am going to stream media I am going to do it with a device suited to that purpose not some buggy software that doesn't get updated enough.
We used to have an old Marquis Chef microwave. It was one knob for the timer (turn for minutes, press in and turn for seconds), another knob for the power level, and a start button. Time/power could even be adjusted while the microwave ran. It was perfection.
For non-smart-TVs you can get a corporate model or one marketed as a monitor.
I wish they'd make the "SMART" module on the TV to be a standard sized external module mounted in the back so it could be removed if you don't want it, or even switch it out for another module.
Well I’m an old person and I still have my tv from 2000. It’s wonderful and still has a great picture, but not smart. I think I could handle smart tv but I’m 68..so guess I’m really old and ty for reminding me.
68 doesn’t qualify as old! I’m talking 88+. But sensible people of all ages want non smart TVs - who needs some overcomplicated thing it’s impossible to even switch on?
Well I’m a senior that had to retire (being a nurse wreaks havoc on the body, think 600lb patients). I figured 68 would qualify as old but ok. I have not 1 smart tv. You do know you can still buy dumb tv’s right? 😂😂
I have a smart TV. It's about 15 years old. Sony stopped supporting the smart part in a bid to get everyone to buy a new TV, but the TV part is fine, so I'm still using it. When I want to watch something from the internet on it I just use my laptop with an HDMI cable. Buy an old Sony 'smart' TV
It’s actually kind of hard to find non smart tv’s nowadays. I know because I looked for one when my smart tv started showing preroll ads on the homepage when I turned it on.

So android it is. Sorry
Installed one in a doctors' office. Had a few calls in the first week until they figured out the scanning software.
Now I only get orders for new toners and that's it.

i need some CRT monitors and a folder 2 or something, if there was a store i would bookmark it in a heartbeat.
"More" and "That's enough"

Had to find a specific cable to convert the output to HMDI and that was about it
