I remain stunned that we don’t have a half dozen Democratic senators competing to see who can be the biggest thorn in Trump’s side.

I definitely think any ambitious Democrat with an eye on 2028 should be making themselves visible right now. Unless they think the road to the White House is through Charlie Kirk.

And it is prob better if the Dem prospects come from Govs.
So why don't they?
Even if they don’t have Presidential aspirations regaining the Senate majority should be crucial.
I know he’s not currently serving but damn if he wasn’t good for be truthful during Trump 1.0
By having the Dems sit on their hands and tut tut rather than actually fight youre seeing the party base gnaw it's own leg off

I see the thorn coming from governors more.
I'm thinking JB Pritzker will be leading the pack in the near future.
Whoever gets up and leads right now will be the person to beat in the primary.
I think Mark Kelly would be an excellent candidate for POTUS. I like Murphy but he's not it.
I cannot wait to support JP Pritzker in any way I can when he decides he's going to run for president (and he will).
He needs to go

We need more
They don't know how to do real politics anymore. They're 💰🫏💣 who hate the new deal & free silver history.
IMO announcing before midterms will increase anti-trump competition.
And he’s one of the Ds that didn’t attend Trump Lying Fest on Tues night.
His energy is authentic, reacts in real time to the flood of bullshit.
All the Very Serious People on the Democratic side were sucking up to Bush and were saying Obama was taking a huge risk by criticizing the Iraq War. We know who turned out to be right.
Im not really expecting the Dems to have learned anything other than to “lean into fascism”
This could be an opportunity for conservative Dems is states like OH and VA.
time to get back in the goddamned game
Chuck Schumer may be a semi-fine senator for more normal times, but not now. And I understate.

Lawsuits ☑️ - lots
Town halls ☑️ - Dem members of Congress hold them
Press conferences ☑️ - Dem leadership
Interviews ☑️
One can certainly argue they're not doing ENOUGH of these things or that they're not doing them effectively, but they ARE doing them.
They need to start thinking more 21st century. The game has changed.
No, not that one.
One of the other ones.
Beshear is my no. 1, but I'm pretty good with anyone on that list.
It's likely to be mostly Governors.
Honestly, Murphy is the only Senator that seems to be making moves. Maybe Schiff, too.
All that 2nd amendment stop tyranny hubris? Where did it go? Everyone wants to be a billionaire but is just waiting for their turn, which will never come? #uspoli
There seems, from here, to be no coordinated action, no plan of attack, no consistent targeted messaging. What gives?
BTW over here it's not a shadow cabinet that chooses the Leader, the exact opposite in fact. Party chooses leader.
Democrats in particular have a temperamental objection to acting as a homogenous party, because we're "grass roots." It's a terrible way to be in this moment, honorable as it is in other eras.
Also the USA is so big, a Democrat in the SF Bay Area might be really different than one on Long Island, NY.
At least 25% of the party elite is Republican controlled opposition whose only concern is making Republicans say nice things about them
The GOP is more united than ever, the Democrats are more divided than ever
Hello, fellow washingtonian here. I was so happy when you won a purple district in Wa state. I am now absolutely horrified that you voted to censure Al Greene. I can't wait to support someone to primary you.
Then, the R’s will need to fill their agenda censoring folks…
And they won’t get anything else done
Ready. Set. Go
