Three things are true:
1) Green bell peppers are just crunchy water.
2) Poblanos are what green bell peppers should be.
3) Any dish that utilizes green bell peppers would be made better by substituting poblanos.

No, it is not
Red, orange, or picante. Green is unripe.
They're good at snuggling with onions.
Green? Yuck
Water has flavour!
While I agree in general, there are one/two dishes where I felt they still belonged. (chili and sausage & peppers)
Poblanos would just do the job there, right?
If I buy the wrong mayo my family says it's too spicy. So, I don't get to play with this life hack. 😓
I worked for a seed company for 34 yrs.
Pepper is available, a green pepper shall never be used.
p.s. I love green peppers too
srsly, I’ve never been a green bell pepper fan.
Poblanos for the win.
I do think celery is pointless, but carrots are nothing like celery.
Lol
Then freeze into cubes. Throw 2-3 cubes into every pot of chili/beans/gumbo/whatever you want to have a good smoky flavor with some burn on the backend.
But also please try poblanos.
I KNOW RIGHT
If you want crunchy dirt water just eat celery it has more fiber.
Of course they taste like crunchy dirt water, green bells arent even fully rippened.
get the reds, they are sweet and flavorful if well seasoned and sauted with red onions.
I wish I could make my Caesium 137 chili soon, it's got 5 each Habinero, Serrano, Jalipeno, 2 each Poblano and Anaheim, and 4 Bell peppers 1 of each red orange yellow and green, then onion tomato and ground beef.
Anyway I’ll see myself out
...also what the heck are you doing with green bell peppers anywhere near an artisan dish
My chili went from A- to A when I replaced green bell peppers with Poblanos - and tossed in serrano peppers for a better-tastimg heat than jalapeños.
I like poblanos, but they're not replacing green peppers in egg and pepper sandwiches or greek salads.
I use Poblanos on Asian Stir-fry? 👀
Try it.
But also I can’t say you are wrong about 3) so I don’t know where I stand.
I'll consider it.
I do the same with serranos for jalapenos.
If we poblano'd where we currently bell pepper I think the world would be happier.
2. YES
3. YESSSS
2/3 aint bad though
just wait until they ripen
this/ is /not /a /joke.
😛
(Hey good luck with finals!)
Another thing is true: Celery is crunchy, stringy water that should never be eaten raw and whose only legitimate purpose is flavoring the dressing that goes with the Thanksgiving turkey.
Just awesome peppers.
I will definitely grow more next year!
I will also occasionally throw in some cooked breakfast sausage and cheese into my scrambles as well but yeah. It's flawless.
1. Nah. That's what cucumbers are. Green bell peppers are tastier than that. 😉
2. Agree, but regular GBPs are fun to munch on and help keep me regular. (TMI?) 😁
3. Strongly agree! 👍
I do agree that poblanos are better than plain green, though.
Maybe “misery wrap”?
Picture Forrest Gumps friend Bubba Blue but with green yellow red Bell peppers. PS - I love all peppers though so Poblanos work. Anaheim's are yum.
