I'm upset that I've only seen news and other sites only mention "Goodtimes". While it was the introduction of him for most of us, he had a long career in stage, film and TV and for decades.
On today of all days, when an awful lot of people around the world need to be strapped into the chair from A Clockwork Orange and forced to watch "A Proportional Response".
So many greats from Roots are gone this year! Lou Gossett Jr! James Earl Jones! John Amos! Someone put a cloak of protection around Leslie Uggams, Ben Vereen, Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, Levar Burton & Todd Bridges! ❤️❤️❤️
Awww lovely man, first knew him from "Roots" but loved his recurring role as Percy Fitzwallace in
"West Wing"
Martin Sheen & the WW crew will be sad 😓😓
This is unfair.
I've always loved John Amos. So handsome. So very, very good at deadpan humor.

My husband and I were eating at the same Dennys in Hollywood, California as John Amos. My hubby got his autograph. So sad he's gone, he was awesome in person. RIP John 🥺

Apart from that, have to mention his villain role in Die Hard 2.
RIP
Wasn’t he in a horror movie? I want to say Shocker, but IMDB says no
RIP John, you deserve it..
Still do, come to think of it.
I'm thankful for his body of work through which to remember him.
Great loss, fantastic actor.
Going to get a Big Mick from McDowell’s in his memory.
Liked him a lot
"West Wing"
Martin Sheen & the WW crew will be sad 😓😓
RIP 💗
Of all the dads on TV, James Evans Sr. was the closest to my own.
I was 7 when the character of James was killed off the show and I literally cried.
I'm tearing up right now.
Goodbye Mr. Amos. Thank you for everything.
Used to watch Good Times religiously. When he quit, it wasn't the same show, though.
😢

R.I.P. Mr. Amos.
He had a good long life but I’m still sad to hear he’s gone.
