Split keyboards are simply better than non-split keyboards but the retail options out there are paltry. I talked about why I love them, why they're better, DIY electronics, and how the lack of commercial options turned me into the hardware freak and writer I am today. For @aftermath.site

Having read this though I think I might give another try though as I think the main problem is the key positioning and size being all off.
Splits will always be for the weirdos. Even when they're attached...it just ain't right.
I agree it’s not an efficient layout, but I can’t imagine switching from QWERTY bc that’s how my muscle memory has been wired to type. Sure, time and effort could change that, but I’m trying to work here!
Is there a particular split you've come across that has a good numpad solution? I have a kinesis at work with a separate one and I feel like there's gotta be a better way
I have an older version of the TKL variant and I definitely don't hate it.
i was actually thinking of grabbing some Boba U4s to replace the stock cherries in my work keyboard, so i guess i'll see for myself if that's the case.
I'll have to give this a shot. Thanks, Chris!
THERE'S LEFT-HANDED MICE?
I see no downside to this plan
Only downside is all paired devices see it as “connected” even if the kb is sending to a different host. So e.g. iOS will auto-hide the soft keyboard if the kb is on but typing on a different device.
