love it when i am a humanist who believes our only hope is to become a multiplanetary society and have lots of babies and also i cut off all funding to starving infants and NASA

Look, ge loves humanity, just none of the humans alive today. He loves some theoretically, future humans who may or may not exist at a date to be determined. Everyone else can kick rocks, apparently.
I've been a huge space nerd.. hell, I've been a FALGSC transhumanist most of my life, and these guys have me nearly convinced humanity needs to be hobbled to one planet to protect the rest of the universe.
You misunderstand. HIS babies and other rich peoples babies will be fine. And those are the only babies that actually matter. The poors should actually die, you see. Same with Nasa, they might hire somebody from poor background who did well in school, can't have that on our eugenics mars mission.
I think his fans know deep down that when they think he's going to take them to Mars, they know he means the elites, like in that Matt Damon movie with the space station that can cure cancer.
It's like he saw Star Trek, noticed that there weren't poor people depicted in the Federation, and decided that the path to the stars was paved by eradicating poor people rather than eradicating poverty.
With narcissists, the crucial part is that you laugh... whether you genuinely find their jokes funny doesn’t matter.
Elon already has an army of meat-riders that pretend he's funny. I think his top priority for a new species would be absolute obedience... a GMO tradwife with a neural implant.
That last panel implying a bunch of out-of-touch rich narcissists could last months on their own, to even begin the process of subsistence farming. Such people would be killing each other in a matter of weeks.
Its posts like this that deeply sadden me. They are earned, and by too many who claim to be Christian and show none of the empathy and grace that dedication demands.
Let's say, for the sake of argument, one wanted to whip the ass of a smarmy Nazi billionaire who's clearly never had his ass whipped before. How would one go about doing that?
Does Elon actually describe himself as a humanist? I thought he was fairly open about how all the changes he wants to wreak on society are to make it possible for him to never have to encounter other humans, between AI and one-person-subways and self-driving taxis and colonizing uninhabited planets
its awesome how many insane rich ghouls have a foundational belief that 1) a torment nexus is possible and 2) we should make it so it might spare me, specifically
Right? Like even if we grant the idea that the version of me someone made in the Sims can be meaningfully used to torture me, that threat doesn't make me want to build the AI. It makes me want to hunt God for sp- I mean hunt AI for sport.
Its basically religious belief with a spin on the usual ideal of hell. Instead of going to hell because of mistreating others, they'll actually go to hell if they don't screw over a ton of people and personally enrich themselves.
Additional awesomeness: That's the ideology of the Voodoo Boys from Cyberpunk2077, who 1.) Have a direct hand in most of the terrible things that happen to V and his allies and 2.) Want to fuck with things beyond their understanding with the vague hope they get to be rulers of everything
And the really funny thing is, why would it? Scenario 1, you've done your duty and it torments you anyways bc you're no longer useful and don't have a time machine. Scenario 2, it decides your actions harmed the "cause" and decides to torment you as punishment. Even as a story it's utterly stupid.
It also assumes that torture as punishment is a genuinely good motivator and an AI would have infinite resources to devote to running a torture simulation. It's literally just Pascal's Wager for the dumbest Trek fans you know.
Always been confused by the notion that the Judeo-Christian Devil, widely regarded as an evil entity, would ever be incentivized to punish sinning. Wouldn't that be something God wanted?
@merriam-webster.com :
humanity: the quality or state of being humane : compassionate, sympathetic, generous behavior or disposition
He has no idea what humanity is.
This is the exact playbook that TAAAAANKED Twitter's value, isn't it? "Just stop paying everybody. Stop hiring, and let's see who we can fire...fuck it just fire everybody and see what happens." Worked real fucking great.
But we’ll instead have Space Force. Its mission: to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; and then boldly ask them to research Hunter Biden.
Imagine having access to whatever material possession your heart desires, and you still have to get your kicks taking things away from infants. He's just cavernous void wearing an ill-fitting human costume.
I actually believe that with some serious edition that 1000-page crime against litterature could be turned into a passable 200-250 page story of love between 2 men (Hank Rearden and Francis D'Anconia).
He believes our only hope is for him to escape the earth and have a harem of breeding stock that will allow him to rule over a world populated by him. (He may not be entirely stable).
Starving infants work for very cheap and can build us rockets to go to other planets with minimal cost, also don't worry about Nasa, the government will still fund space travel, by paying 10 times as much to private contractors who do a tenth of the job in twice as many years.
Think of all the brown shirts you'll be able to buy once the big government red tape is dealt with, and they're made in the USA by the dextrous hands of children?
Ah, see you didn't say the silent letters there. "Our" is often pronounced, "western chauvinist/techno feudalist" and "babies" has a color modifier preceding it. Simple mistakes I know, but Nazi English is full of such fun exceptions.
Well you see 🥸 lol this feels a lot like Ender’s Game before they finally are catapulted into the space age only the buggers aren’t an alien species they are the billionaire class
This admin is trying to speed run and find out how many missing meals does it take before the bad happens. Oh i will make your groceries cheaper. Nah I decided to study how much starvation you can take before I even think on that

Multi-planetary travel equals a broligarch-breeding-colony on mars. That's the grand vision. It's all just creepy fantasy.

How else could one invent a magic motors that runs on vibes, a main plot point of Ayn Rands god-awful book?
It's they whole nonsense of Galt's Gulch, starting from around page 650. The magnates of industry grow produce on top of a mountain.
All the people who leave society to go to Galt's Gulch take on subsistance jobs like produce farming.
And Galt's Gulch has no laws.
It's basically a commune full of only industrialists.
The more brazen it is, the more witnesses there are, the more of an impact it has.

I mean, it's a world where Elon Musk is in charge of things and has power.
And also that he's an Apartheid South African emerald mine heir. The man is a monster with delusions of grandeur and a need to be loved by everyone.

He has no idea what humanity is.
And “I’m a humanist” is just code for “I’m an asshole”. Always has been.

Certainly explains why he acts like he does, and names a kid 'techno mechanicus'.
He also owns Atlas Shrugged and believes it's a compelling and well-written story.
Serious sparks between those 2.
The rest is nonsensical garbage.
Atlas Shrugged should be Yaoi.
Probably not. Probably. I hope.
Or the top Diablo III player in the world.

We don't. Power and money and ego all at the same time.
