If you subscribe to Microsoft 365 Personal, the 40% price increase is a con to upsell you AI. Your old plan and price is still there called "Classic" - but only if you try to cancel.
Microsoft should be ashamed if not prosecuted.

It's a con and you don't have to pay it:

...I haven't actually needed anything like this in 3 years though. Google Docs and such do 99% of what I need.
Too bad for them most of us were rendered illiterate by autocorrect already lol.
I use notepad++ for docs and csvs like a psychopath
The software part is more of a bonus than the main selling point.
Modern Microsoft is a blight.
Maybe Microsoft is A/B testing us.
I’ll give this a whirl.
So furious.
Isn't that so mean of people? To make it completely free? All you have to do is run an easily reviewed script?
I’d pay an extra $8 if you turned it all into pennies and threw them at Mustafa Suleyman for spearheading this bullshit.

I have my own brain.
I've always done this. However yesterday I went to help a friend and as much as we tried, we could not get those 3 boxes to appear. They're there on my account if I go cancel. Very strange.
I PAID for this. I only wanted the functions it had and they prevented me using it!!!!
As for cloud storage, there are also other alternatives. Do a search.
Also, everyone, please watch this video from James Lee:

"I'd just like broadband internet, no TV packages."
"Sorry sir, we only offer internet as part of our entertainment package."
"I'd like to cancel"
"Would you like our internet-only deal?"
Every. Single. Year.
But for Virgin to have to pretend there's no internet-only option and me to have to pretend to quit -- every year -- is a little odd, no? We both know it's a charade. And we both know the other knows it's a charade.
