It’s darkly hilarious that the very same circles who, four years ago, derided the idea that Trump might not accept the result of the 2020 election as pure “alarmism” are now telling us that it’s “hysterical” to warn of authoritarianism - and they still get to dominate the op-ed pages.

No one today got that excuse
Gonna mute this conversation.

They already forgot the travel ban of 2017. Literally already happened.
Also it needs to be in black and white.

I studied the 3rd Reich and the Holocaust in undergrad/grad curriculum. The everyday "ordinary" of Germany throughout 1933-1937 numbed people to accept the extermination of "undesirables". A starting point was sterilization of the mentally disabled, followed by euthanasia.
I mean it isn’t unprecedented in even in the over policing that has previously gone on
Chicago had a notorious off the record site
Trump won't be that bad.
Trump won't do that, that's illegal.
Trump won't try to hold onto power after losing.
Trump didn't do a coup.
Maybe it was a coup, but we need to get past it.
Trump was bad, but we know what to expect."
Somehow, these people still have jobs.
