Please start masking anywhere people from outside your household breathe. With everything falling apart, nobody can risk being sick, and nobody wants the guilt of sharing a virus with a neighbor who doesn't survive it.
Exactly this. My youngest came home with a cold from a sleepover. Two days later i came down with symptoms which I attributed to her spreading said germs. Two days after that I had such awful neuropathy that i swabbed for Covid and popped positive.
If anyone didn’t know they now have tests that test for flu, covid and RSV all on the same swab. Knowing is half the battle. Stay informed and make good choices.
everyone gets better for like a week, then...boom...text from neighbor kid that spent whole weekend in our house, "uhh our oldest has strep"...so...now everyone in OUR house has strep. rinse and repeat
My children's schools were petri dishes. Can't be helped.
I used to teach middle school. When I switched to a corporate job, working with scores of people in the course of a typical day, I RARELY got sick. Teaching...constant illness.
Feed them! The cold will last a few days, coughs for a week or so, and if you're really lucky laryngitis for a week! It's a sucky time of year, hope everyone is right as rain soon.
My whole household was laid low with the Flu this past 2 weeks, we're just now starting to feel normal again. This is not the season of FAFO. This was me last week.
Yaay for measles! We are on our way to making America Great Again! Exciting times! Just make sure before you empty your chamber pot out the window, that you look for passersby's before tossing its contents out the window to the streets.
Ugh- that was my January and the remaining cough is making me lose my biscuits (the dry heated air is making it last forever). May the odds be ever in your favor and you all heal fast!
Some type of virus has us down for the count here. the kids bounced backed in a day or two hubby and I are going on a week. Hope you all get better soon ❤️🩹
I hear that - had to leave a restaurant while waiting and hearing the dining room sound like a flu ward. Can't get live vaccines so I triple mask and keep to myself, but that risk is real enough for me -- have been hospitalized twice with it (not counting COVID).
I'd test for flu/covid. Often more than just a cold, two friends had a "cold" but it was C19..
(Got covid for 1st x on Jan.30 ..now I'm left with a "cold" .) Take care.
Gotta test for covid. Oldest got sick two weeks ago (high school student). HS said “no reported covid” so we didn’t test. A week later, every single person in our house (4) tested positive. We’ve all been boostered and it’s still been absolutely awful.
somehow, despite being told this, i never quite realized that parenthood was just a long train of getting colds from my child and, presumably, passing it on to her, until it actually happened.
I'm a firm believer in letting the fever do its job. Unless of course it gets too high. Lots of electrolytes and carbs, no dairy. This is not medical advice this is Nana's advice.
This is why many disabled people have been advocating for masks for five years. They really do help to prevent the spread of viruses and even eradicated a strain of the flu.
It seems as though it is happening every where. It’s shutting down school districts 😩.
Now the Republicans put an incompetent man to handle another possible crisis. They have disappointed us again😡 Covid deaths obviously meant nothing to the GOP. 😤
Oh no. It can be rough. The virus strains are getting nastier and we are not imagining it. Took almost a month to recover fully from one so totally hear you. Take care, Bluesky friends.
It may not be that the virus is getting nastier. Some reports show that Covid may reduce the efficacy of your immune system for months to a couple of years after you’ve had it so in some people other viruses may seem more severe because their immune system is less efficient.
These observations are still controversial. Some studies show this to be the case and others don’t. I think there is political pressure to not believe the studies, but that doesn’t make them wrong.
have been begging students who are sick, and there are a lot of them right now, not to come to class; I will help you catch up! extra office hours! you get an extension, and you get an extension!
based on how I'm feeling right now it may already be too late, and I'm hoping it's just a cold
Ugh, I am sorry! Hu bs & I had flu two weeks ago (yes, we are vaxxed, so it could have been worse) and everything has been circulating here in Texas. Good time to stay home! Fish out those masks again.
It’s so frustrating. Kleenex is killing it right now. Antibiotics finally helped us break the many weeks of sickness in our home. I hope your family feels better soon.
Keep an eye on symptoms. Everyone in my sister’s house came down with various colds. She thought hers was just stubborn. Turns out it had turned into pneumonia and she just didn’t have time to notice.
I've been sick for a week; went to Dr and I have bronchitis from some sort of creeping crud. Fatigue, cough, congestion. Yuk. Hope your family heals quickly.
My hubs and I never stopped masking up. We avoided covid and haven't been ill since masking. We also avoid indoor crowds. It's a lifestyle choice. Not for everyone.
I got sick because I forgot my mask and walked into the county office to pay a tax bill and after being inside for about one minute, realized my mistake went back out and got a mask, but that’s all it took for me to catch a virus. Thankfully, it was neither flu nor Covid.
Should warn you guys that the latest COVID variant manifests as a bad cold -- conjunctivitis, nasal congestion and BAD post-nasal drainage, drip. Worth testing.

I had a cold while ON that vacation.
It sucks being that miserable while democracy dies. Like being kicked when you're down.
Best wishes.

sorry your family is sick
Best wishes for quick recoveries in your family.
Ooh wah-ah-ah -ah!

Another Covid-flu infusion.
them😷
My kids have what seems like a cold, but I'm hearing people with more severe versions of their symptoms being diagnosed with flu.
But my kids got flu shots, which I think are mitigating the severity from flu --> cold.
oh: one of our dogs is sick too.

He now resides in the den. 😂
