Our ancient Gaggia Classic was the best machine we ever had. The modern upgrade, not so much, although the beauty of your pull makes me think maybe we just got a dud.
Our 2020 Classic Pro got quite a lot better with after-market changes once out of warranty—lower pressure springs, silicone gasket, some aluminium widget -> brass, new shower plate, single-hole tip for the steam wand. Some of this is probably just getting it closer to how they used to make them.
Brah. That’s some serious stuff. I just grind and do pour overs. It’s the coffee and the roaster that’s important for me. Whacha brewing? What coffee? And who roasts it?
I've got about 1 step down from that machine, and it is honestly super easy to maks great coffee with it. Takes a little practice to get the tamp pressure right and to get the milk foam right, but easy peazy
I haven’t seen the Gaggia, looks like it does a great job though!
We almost lost the De’Longhi last year, ordered a new milk frother container and another part. Took forever to get the parts, but it works again and hubby is happy bc it’s his fav machine. He’ll be the most sad when it finally goes.
Love the result!
I used to drink from glass too, but after switching to earthenware (Loveramics) I find that the coffee tastes better. Did you also try it?

Man, I was so sad when my De'Longhi finally kicked it.

Please relish that for me.
And that is gorgeous!
