i wish we would start to say ‘these heterosexual men’ or ‘these straight men’; because i can say with a high-degree of certainty that us gay men, don’t claim their sort…
Wilhoit's Law: “Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.”
I think a lot of women are in denial about this. There is zero doubt in my mind that this is occurring because they have been slowly and methodically reigning our chains for years. Trump was the useful idiot to expedite it.
“As soon as I am inaugurated, I will direct the Justice Department to vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect American families and children from violent rapists, murderers, and monsters,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “We will be a Nation of Law and Order again!” Trump quote 12/24/24
We need to talk more about how it feels to be a woman amidst this sudden onslaught of “reclaiming masculinity,” celebrating male aggression and violence, and vanishing smart experienced women from positions of power.
The power behind the Trump presidency win is powerful woman that earned position. Diverse cabinet & women in positions of power.
Not seeing a vanishing.
See strong women that are capable of dealing with the boys!
And here we thought we were close to breaking the glass ceiling only to find ourselves being shoved down into the basement. We must keep fighting the misogynists and stand up for our rights.
While depressing, I also found a lot of energy and inspiration from the women deep in the trenches who were absolutely not going to cave to these misogynists ♀️

Some days I chug along. Some days I am this close to crying so hard I feel like I could open a black hole. Once I accepted that as "oh, this is a normal reaction to this kind of timeline," it got easier to navigate. (The occasional vodka & tonic isn't hurting, either.)
as a man… i just don't know how to respond to all this. Truly atrocious and very much "early stages of Handmaids Tale." I just don't know how to be a meaningful ally in this circumstance.
I mostly get angrily told to take off my lawyer hat and be a human, or lighten up it's just a joke etc. I can't turn it off and it's not a hat, it's my core values and no, you don't get a pass just because we're friends… and just like that we aren't friends anymore.
That is very honest. I think it would be voting for candidates who will protect everyone's right to make their own health care decisions, as well as speaking up when men put things down as being feminine. It's about lifting up those who are victims of patricarcy, including men themselves.
You did not single-handedly create the patriarchy and you can't beat yourself up for not single-handedly ending it. You don't know who you might have helped.
thank you for that. I do, sometimes - I get notes periodically from individuals, heartfelt, in secret of course because the public rule is to hate people like me (lawyers). And i've moved ~$500m into poor households. I know i've made a difference but i often feel like schindler in the last scene.
Yes, *I* am safe… i've got this niece who needs help learning boundaries and self defense and can't figure out how I of all people could convey to her "you need to be less trusting of people who look and sound just like me."
Men listen to other men. Talk to the men in your life. Tell them what you see, because maybe they don't see it, or maybe they do but need confirmation.
My 2c
To women: Don't default try to 'rescue or protect' as that's how you can end up wading into creepy territory. Just acknowledge autonomy of women as a basic right and ask, "How can I help?"
To men: Stand up against this shit even when women aren't around.
on the "rescue or protect" thing, I get the implications. I've struggled around that in the past. Always believed moral duty to use my resources however small to benefit others. example, my spare bedrooms are always "free halfway house" esp for people trying to escape DV situations. people assume…
Check your male friends, family and colleagues when they drop off-color jokes, say something sexist, etc. Peer pressure can be positive! I also know it's harder than it sounds--it's a risk, but bigotry flourishes when it's tolerated
Call your elected officials. Tell them what you want them to do or stop doing. Do it every day. Ask your male friends and relatives to do the same. Text them - "I made my calls today, did you?"
Had the same thought when I saw all the aggressive energy in that oval office meeting - between Vance, Trump insulting reporter, and that clown in a suit harassing Zelensky about his suit.
Exhausting. We "Boomer broads" are tired of fighting the same effing battles. But, look at the protests and notice just how many of the old gals are still on the front lines. Because we lived the alternative.
Amen sister. We did it for us and now we will do it for our daughters, granddaughters and women everywhere. I’ll stop when they plant me in the ground.
👆 And conversely we're also being used to justify horrific governmental attacks on transgender women while watching a literal adjudicated sexual abuser in office as president (in addition to the Tate situation) It's a complete mindfvck. @infinitescream.bsky.social
SAME, though we had finally made some progress! Check out the No Small Act group. They are working to get volunteers on every county nationwide so we can form our network and push out information to the people in our communities everywhere.
We've talked about this in my group of women who were sexually assaulted while in the military, especially regarding Hegseth elevated to SecDef. It's rough.
In my viewpoint, this is the last gasp of the old order white male supremacy. It is dying and they are doubling down on something that no longer exists. The new order is diverse, it is colorful and joyful. It will prevail, but the road is long and hard. Don't let them stop you, stay strong.
Or the environment of the last several years. And also for black and disabled folks.
We’ve been TELLING y’all that trans rights are a canary in the coal mine for women’s rights for ages, but apparently too many cishet white women only notice there’s a problem when it arrives at their own door.
Some of y’all get it. But way too many don’t, and are still falling for the absolute bullshit that transphobes push about how you gotta sacrifice us to appease the leopards that definitely won’t come back around to eat YOUR face next time.
Agreed. Here’s my description of yesterday’s *feelings* - unfortunately not only are they not new, they’re easily paired to other recent rape/domination apologia I’m sure most of us remember.
Crushing. The complete lack of justice and de-valuing of women is horrifying. The truth doesn’t matter. Our pain or suffering doesn’t matter. It feels defeating
Or a preop transman stuck in my female husk…again…. There aren’t enough keys in all the world to weave between my digits or affix to fists in all the world…
So with all the non-Republican women, the non-Republican men, all the non-white races, LGBTQI+ people, differently-abled peoples, & the working classes, do you have enough numbers to squash this virulent assholes network?
I’m 52. Never lived in a world where women were not moving up. I grew up with women in power unapologetically. Sandra Day O’Connor, Madeleine Albright, Condi Rice.
To say that this world feels surreal right now… is an understatement.
They were unapologetic, but they and others like them were subjected to so much stress and hate. Look at how so many people openly loathed or disdained Hillary Clinton for simply existing.
No, the "old girl" network that I am referring to is organic. Keep notes in a safe place, and talk with each other offline. We have to stay connected to confront and end systemic partiarchy, racism, gender bigotry, ableism, and other biases in the workplace, educational spaces, and communities.
I have daughters. I hate this onslaught so much and fear for them every day. I know they'll have to fight for the dignity, security and respect I've always been able to take for granted. More than anything I want to break this Tate-faced world before it has a chance to break them.
Same, it’s so hard right now! Check out the No Small Act group. They are working to get volunteers on every county nationwide so we can form our network and push out information to the people in our communities everywhere. We have to get more organized to be effective.
The Tate Brothers are African-Americans. Like Proud Boy Enrique Tarrio, they seem to have some serious delusions about where they actually belong in the white strongman’s world they worship. Their thuggery is politically useful, otherwise they’d be in jail like Puffy.
How many examples where Trump and the GOP praise rapists/assaulters will it take for
a) Democratic elected officials to say *something*, *anything* about it?

and said that his state’s attorney general was looking at the possibility of charges against them. “Florida is not a place where you’re welcome with that type of conduct,” he said, adding, “I don’t know how it came to this.”" @michellegoldberg.bsky.social

We all know what the supreme Court is going to do today. They will OFFICIALLY LET THE ORANGE FASCIST TRAITOR BE A DICTATOR ALONG WITH THEM.
well then if breaking laws is official, let's start doing it, REBELLION!
They do men and our society as a whole grave and mortal injustice.
1. pay a seven figure bribe, or
2. be a rapist.
You would reach more people, when you add a good description into the Alt-text field.
That is pretty easy, especially, when your image just contain text.
This way, you support visually impaired people and everyone else, who rely on a good filled Alt-text.

Replies a convicted rapist he's the one probably feeling uncomfortable in her presence. Not the other way around as he tries to make it
Hope you get the rest you need. 😴
Men have ethos by default right now in a way women and gender minorities don’t. It’s more than ok to use that ethos to persuade—it's necessary.
If you want to do more directly, look into local activism on Facebook/Instagram.

She's talking about plans to escape as a refugee
And I realized there are few ways for me to offer help that don't sound as creepy as Elon's tweet to Taylor.

Not all men of course but as a group way to many.
Because I think you do.
This isn’t a 50-50 split.
It never was.

It discourages all understanding
