The pool games just being random regular season games that “matter slightly more” takes away a little from me. If you’re going to do a tournament why not just block off a few weeks, play all games at the same time, and really foster a tournament energy?
It gives teams the opportunity to play into national TV games, like what my Pacers did last year.
Expect it to be harder to manufacture intensity as years go on, even as the NBA games the schedule to make them feel bigger. At its core, it’s still a cash grab without the fundamental interest/story of European soccer cups it attempts to mimic
But I felt like it didn’t really start last year until the first round was over.

At least it gives people something to talk about that's not awards (that is the most tedious NBA discourse)
with all the current injuries, a lot of the people watching might be confused why nobody they know is playing, but it'll be great to show off the younger players to a new audience, just hoping injuries are at a minimum
Hate the entire idea of a stupid in season tournament that means nothing. But I like watching basketball a lot.
