$6 Lucky Charms, that’s what. The NERVE to charge the most for the least nutritional value. Sometimes my kid wants them for a treat (not breakfast) but I can’t morally justify it unless there’s a sale.
I have cereal when I travel only. It makes it much easier. But the cereal aisle is another story of the depravity of captain crunch. Dudes got sharp ass cereal with crunch berries. He’s dangerous don’t let that cashmere smile fool ya.
I don't conform to the sissy liberal idea of "cereal", instead my body forms fuel in the morning out of cigarettes, caffeine and a little bit of freak if I may be honest
I don't even know how people don't eat cereal. Everything else is so much more work or takes too much time in the morning. Cereal is like the perfect food.
I recall the day my wife broke down and let me buy Captain Crunch.
I was so excited. I felt like a little kid. I got my Jethro Boden bowl out, filled it with Captain Crunch, poured a quart of milk over it, let it sit for a minute, and then took a spoonful. It sucked! Terrible. My wife laughed.
I buy Golden Grahams online. Grocery stores are charging way too much rent for the cereal shelves nowadays & it’s the easiest products to restock, so it’s not labor intensive.
I can’t be the only one depressed by the state of the cereal aisle. What happened to all of the colorful cartoon characters and prizes inside the box?!
You’re an adult who can make his own decisions now. It’s time to put childish things aside and admit that cereal is the shit and eat it for dinner when the mood strikes.
Omg, I knew there was someone else out there who liked them! And all I can guess as to why they are so expensive is they are made of actual nutrient rich foods??? 🤷♀️
Healthier ingredients is part of it. But there are more factors involved. The top 3 brands (General Mills, Kellogg’s, & Post Holdings) hold over 70% of the market share. Profit boosting anyone? Then there’s the population that keeps paying for their fav brands, as a few have stated here.
Most “cereals” aren’t good for ur body
Get the basic good ingredient and make it yourself
Ie porridge plus fruit and or nuts
Must add Cinammon no sugar 😀
My wife once surprised me this way. Half of the carton contents were reduced to cereal dust from being handled by systems not designed for it. Not worth it lol
I realize it won't happen because it won't sell enough, but I love cereal and would be all over a healthy tasty cereal. I love Shredded Wheat biscuits, with a bit of skim milk and a tablespoon of brown sugar.
I eat a box a year as breakfast over the course of several discontiguous days in a week. Its a nice break from my usual more adult choices and rare enough that it isn’t going to kill me.
The cereal isle is the last refuge of the displaced Gen X’r. Every cereal we loved in the 80’s is there, like the Big 3 got together and vowed our generation would live on through added sugars and sketchy red dyes.
Same. I may or may not have invested far too much time immediately post-college in buying and testing various chocolate cereals and rating them on a scale of my own devising. (Sugar cereals were a no-go growing up; that was my rebellion.)
NEWS FLASH!!!! we made cereal GREAT, Again! Now, a family size box of cereal requires you to undersign a Reverse Mortgage - As the Founding Fathers INTENDED!!!!!
I eat cereal 5 days. Cherrios with 11 frosted mini wheats for a very small amount of sugar. Topped with fresh fruit. Currently persimmons are ripe. Good fiber.

Second bowl:
The sugar keeps going and going and going.
I dubbed it “the aisle of tears and tantrums,” and went elsewhere for my Cap’n Crunch (I love being a grown up with no one to tell me “no.”)

RFK ain’t the bad guy
You're welcome and I'm sorry.
💚
The best is "mini" like you couldn't break the original sized one up with the spoon.
Online, they're like £10 a box from god knows where.
A box sits in my wish list, patiently waiting...
#FrostedKrispies
There's still variety choice, at least
And I also love a good, plain Cheerio
Lucky Charms
Golden Grahams
Grape Nuts
Sugar Crisp/Honey Smacks
Captain Crunch/Crunchberry
Rice Crispies
Forget guns, pry my cereal out of my cold, undead hands.
I’m strictly an Eggs + Meat + Veggie breakfast person.
Trash food, superior happiness.

I'm gonna have to at some point
I like some hot sauce when im goin that route🙌🏼
Once on my own, I had a WALL OF CEREAL in the pantry, and when I wanted a different kind, I opened a new box. And smiled.
