Novo Nordisk's GLP-1 drugs Ozempic & Wegovy continue to power Denmark's economy—since late 2021, GDP growth has been 3.6%, but it would have been 0% were it not for pharmaceutical output more-than-doubling amidst booming exports to the US🧵

The US is ahead in a lot more than AI, including GPUs, Space, etc.
The EU has done great work in some areas (including video games!), but not as many as the US or China.
There is clearly a selection bias in my little sample, but they are impressive and it must speak to the social and educational support there.

And due to their unique organisation as a foundation there's no way a) they get bought up by hedge funds, b) they have owners skimming off huge profits. All the (significant) profits have to be reinvested in health, not just the business.
parameters which are used to fabricate the microprocessors at (for example) TSMC, Intel and Samsung plants
I think the available data is consistent with BioNtech being a failing company that took a hail mary in 2020 on Covid vaccines

While the US is going for more unexplored technologies (such as electric cars and AI) and arguably those have more of a bubble potential, cos we don't know its cap
For all its faults, Tesla popularised the rise of electric cars, and made them "cool" for long enough before Musk fucked it up
Unsurprisingly, investors throw money at it & similar things
And if anything, the US inventing Robotaxis and robobuses kinda proves what I'm saying...
