Both of these books are centered around queerness, alienation, survival and heartache. Coup de Grâce is about a man torn between hope and despair, who just wants release from pain, from waiting. From loneliness.

It’s a personal book, one I’m immensely proud of and (I hope) one that—if it cannot help you cultivate a hunger or joy for being alive right now—can at least plant the seed for you to allow your life, to stay and to wait and exist, even if it feels unbearable right now.
