you gotta do what you love.
Even if it's not a good idea.

QotW: The best games are the ones that let you do both. Where you decide what gear you're actually equipped with, but you can choose what you're gear looks like based on anything you've collected.

I pronounced it "Gay-den" instead of "Guy-den" as a kid. Which is wrong.

QotW: Faxanadu. Back in the day, I pronounced it "facks-ann-ah-doo".
But then I found out it's called Faxanadu because it was the FAmicom port of the game Xanadu. So now, now, I don't know HOW it's meant to be pronounced. I just know the last part is "zann-ah-doo".

QotW: Can I take to the high spaces instead? I wanna be a pirate in Star Wars.
Like Skeleton Crew, only without the kids.

Nah, it rules. Every charge character that becomes a motion character is made better for it.

QotW: Both Know One Lives Forever games.
They're kinda considered GoG's white whale in terms of classing PC games they don't have yet. But they basically can't figure out who actually owns the series so they haven't been able to get the rights to rerelease it.

Newer version. Swapped out a character and removed a couple of the lower quality images.

Also, Chris, Steet Fighter Alpha is technically an interquel, not a prequel. Since it takes place between SF1 and SF2.

QOTW: Mine is probably Dragon Quest 3. I don't want to get too spoilery since the remake just came out, but particularly the way the final section of the game ties into DQ1.

Hmm, I guess the "First Appearance:" section in Marvel Database only counts comics.

Dammit Woolie! Now the York New City discussion is going to be behind the paywall!

QotW: I strongly associate Frog's Theme from Chrono Trigger with Everquest.
I was playing Everquest the first time I learned to run an MP3 player in the background, and I remember playing Frog's Theme as I would run around the Eastern Commonlands for hours. It made the game feel 10x more epic.

I can tell Chris didn't watch all of Ash vs. Evil Dead. Because the whole "Ash gets transported to the future" twist comes up again there.

QotW: Thief. For sure. That kind of fantasy rogue simulator with an atmospheric story and setting is probably my favorite type of game of all time. And the only other franchise that really does that is Dishonored.

Unfortunately, I don't remember where all of them are from, because I've been collecting them from the internet for years. But I do know a lot of them came from Deviantart users "sabockee" and "RieyTails".

I refuse to accept that Mike, the African-American boxer kicked out of professional boxing for excessive violence, and Mike Bison, the African-American boxer kicked out of professional boxing for excessive violence, are two separate characters.

Alternatively, you could stick Alex with Luke. They're both American and have that Military-chic sense of style. They're also both the "new face" of their respective SF games.
That leaves Joe and Remy stuck together. Team Leftovers.

Yes he will. Because he's secretly a SiRN Copy Fighter.

They're victims of not having anyone better to team up with. Hugo+Poison is a must-have team. Haggar+Zangief is also pretty obvious.
The only real connection between Remy and Alex is they fought in 3S and didn't hate each other afterwards. It's an "I need a teammate, and I know you" situation.

Thanks! Pretty much all of them have at least SOME connection/something in common. Probably the most tenuous is Alex+Remy. Whose only real connection is "met in 3S".
Also Luke+Joe. Where Luke is just like, "He looks like my dad." :p

That's not irrational at all. That's just practical.

It was weird hearing you guys say the Budokai games are the direction fighting games could have taken, because they absolutely did. They're called Arena Fighters and most shonen anime games are this kind of game. All those Naruto games. Most Dragon Ball games. Also the the FF Dissidia games.

QotW: Maarek Stele. Protagonist of TIE Fighter.
Just a no-nonsense working class TIE Fighter pilot trying to bring peace and order to the galaxy, and protect the people from those pesky Rebel terrorists.

Was so happy to see EGM in the #1 slot. That and it's sister publication, Computer Gaming World were always my favorites.
I miss gaming mags so much. Whenever I dream about being in a mall or grocery store, I still go right for the magazine racks, forgetting that they aren't there anymore...

QotW: The first "game magazine" I ever read was a binder of articles a friend had of photocopied articles from Nintendo Fun Club(Nintendo Power's predecessor). It was just a collection of the strategy sections, and I remember reading the walkthroughs for games like Metroid and Punch-Out.

Just as an aside to this episode:
Instead of making a new Crash game, or a new Spyro game, Microsoft should just make one big new 3D action platformer game.
And it should have Crash. And Spyro. And Banjo. And Conker. And Blinx.
They could call it something like, oh...I dunno...Skylanders.

Oh man...Watch Out For Fireballs just did their episode on that, and they spent half the time talking about how NOT funny they found it...

GotW: Saint's Row 3 and/or 4. These two games bleed together in my mind because they share a lot of the same characters and it's hard to remember which bits were in which game. But they were both hilarious to me. Dub Step gun. Vice President Keith David. Priceless.

QotW: I'm going to go with Vin Diesel's Riddick. I always wanted to see an Alien vs. Predator vs. Riddick movie. Pitch Black was practically an Aliens movie anyway. And if I can't get the movie, maybe I can get the matchup in Mortal Kombat instead.
