I have solved Bird Flu. Give the chickens ivermectin. Have the chickens practice Earthing. The problem with their immune systems is they are not touching the soil enough. Coffee enemas for all chickens. Also we must stop reading them Ibram X. Kendi. Eggs will be back and most importantly not gay.

What a shame. Teamsters deserve better than this.

Trumpists will continue to be furious at any dissent no matter how much power they steal. That’s because the administration is premised on pathological insecurity. They’re shitty people, they know it, and they will never stop resenting being seen as shitty people.

This is what democracy looks like!

Maybe I wasn’t clear about this. I wanted more egg and no plane crash, not many plane crash and no egg.

A thing I wish I could teach people is that the vast majority of very rich people are deeply stupid. They did not get where they are because of ingenuity or talent. They got there because of compound interest on hereditary wealth and being tax cheats.

I lowkey think that Dems are so bad at persuasion because they’re all tied up with truth and factchecking instead of doing some good, god’s honest propaganda.

this attitude — paperwork is for sissies, real wars are won by Big Strong Men — is traditionally a harbinger of ruinous for defeat for everyone who holds it

Wired's reporting this week is a strong case study in what an outlet can accomplish when it's not taking the bait on every word the president says

Hell yeah. Hold the line. This is what we need people to do. Slow things down, don’t comply in advance so the courts have time to stop them. It’s starting to work.

i mean. trudeau is right. donald trump represents a betrayal of everything america promised to be. canada has been our ally for a hundred years, through the fires of two world wars, the cold war, all the great struggles of the twentieth century--and this is how we repay that? it's disgusting

I’m just a boy, standing in front of a democracy of 300 million citizens, asking that it not devolve into an authoritarian oligarchy.

well kids, despite everything, we have a little money for a vacation. where should we go...

i just cannot get over how much the administration’s response to the crash shows a profound disrespect for the lives of the people they are supposed to serve

excellent day to start @jeffstein.bsky.social 's awesome podcast about John Brown, American Carnage

It’s infrastructure week

i don’t understand how, psychologically, a person gets to a place where they interpret sign language as some kind of attack or imposition on their life. like, what the fuck is wrong with you?

I, for one, am a huge fan of the technology of the immovable political border, which has prevented more violence than any other technology in the history of mankind.

i'm going to get sick of explaining everything in terms of egg prices over the next four years

It’s ok to feel sick over the state of things.

News influencers need journalism - unless they’re tabloid rage trash, news coverage is what they commentate on. Social platforms need news influencers. Community Notes needs journalism -for the Notes to point to. It’s symbiotic. Funding hits to reputable journalism hurt the whole ecosystem.

A tale in three images.

Turns out NY Post actually supports criminal fare evaders, provided they do it in a car instead of on the subway. nypost.com/2025/01/06/u...

i think rage at congestion pricing is a good example of how no one believes that the world can be positive sum anymore. like, people pay a small fee to get access to a faster commute — saving them valuable time — and the money improves public transit, saving other people valuable time. it's win-win!

The night is dark and full of bothers.

In this fascist era, we already have people incapable of celebrating progress or positive development and who reflexively greet any instance of it with suspicion and cynicism: fascists. Do what fascists can’t do: Celebrate progress.

Yeah i dunno maybe the democrats shouldn't have run on "the economy is fine" as a platform

my armchair psychological diagnosis is that the drive to accumulate as much wealth as possible eats away at the drive for self-improvement or the internal desire to cultivate any skills or tastes. these people build huge mounds of treasure and then essentially just sit around looking at it, empty.

i’ve been watching a couple of tiny desk concerts and i didn’t enjoy them at all. they should be answering emails instead. where are their computers
