I'm no Senate strategist, but that seems really, really dumb.

What is the appropriate language to use to tell them not to do this when we call their offices?

I think he thinks he's tacking to the center. In actuality, he's accomplishing nothing but setting fire to any support he had among the left.

Anyone in Congress who fails this completely to understand the Constitution should be impeached.

Anyone else thinking about the Enabling Act of 1933? 👀 I don't expect history to exactly repeat itself, but Congress ceding its own power to a rampaging authoritarian sure sounds familiar.

It's a lot of words for "We want white heterosexual Christian straight men to have all the power again."

Watch for a different crime to be reported (aka, concocted) that will make his deportation sound legal. We should all be very skeptical if that happens.

Everything that Musk does is 100% trump's fault, and everything that trump does is 100% the fault of elected Republicans. They own all this crap, even if they'd like to deny it.

Also, American journalism's insistence that "both sides" be described in every article is why we're in a timeline where half the country doesn't believe in facts and think everything's up for debate. Some things should not be here and aren't in other countries.

But there are some "biases" that reflect a society's basic values. Most of Europe thinks it's barbaric that we still have the death penalty. It would be like insisting that articles about Dahmer challenge the assumption that cannibalism is bad.

I'm grappling with this question, and I'm not sure there's an answer right now. Everyone trying to un-brainwash people (cults, extremism) knows it's very difficult and takes time. Probably a personal crisis/revelation is the only way, so it seems like a lot of people must suffer. Facts won't help.

I'm also not sure why their tracker resets towards the baseline instead of accumulating. As though each day we're waking up anew in our 2015 democracy with none of the authoritarian edicts from the day prior still in place.

And women. And any other racial, ethnic, or gender minority.

That doesn't work when the news can't keep up with the events, which is what's happening right now.

Okay, *but*, I don't think they actually slowed down. That's my point.

Okay, but how are the recent levels so low given actions in the past week? The EO targeting Perkins Coie, the DOJ both expunging investigations of trump allies while being investigations of trump foes, the infamous Zelensky meeting... I question their methods iv they have us in the green right now.

The guy is such a tool that it is almost worth rejoining Facebook, finding this Tesla group, pretending that I own a Tesla so I can join, and then hunting this idiotic post down just so I can drag him more for being such a fucking snowflake. Almost.

Also works to replace "anti-dei" with "undoing the civil rights era."

Please try to start acting like a leader. We desperately need one right now. (Hint: this is not the way.)

I mean, can YOU think of anything that Dem could have done besides wearing pink and holding up itty-bitty signs?

I dislike that they probably see this as a compliment to how manly they are.

I would argue that a lot are not just uninformed but are actively DISinformed. Intentionally and very successfully.

Are we hoping he's going to spontaneously combust from telling too many blatant lies? Barring that, I can't understand why anyone alive would choose to watch - in person or on a device - one of the world's worst human beings spew horseshit all over a bunch of spineless sycophants.

PLEASE keep pointing out that trump is not a fucking dictator. No one has to do all these stupid and crazy things just because he says so.

No, you need to pay your taxes so the billionaires can take your money. Tax cuts for the rich aren't cheap!

If it looks like a Russian asset, talks like a Russian asset, and walks like a Russian asset, does it really matter if it technically is or is not a Russian asset in any formal sense?

I'm new here myself, so I had to triple check that it wasn't on me! The funny thing is that I knew exactly what article and what picture you were referencing, and I totally agree with you.

That's the single best article I've ever read that explains how people voted for trump. It also explains the dismal prospects of ever getting out of this mess.

Our Democratic candidate (Wagenhauser, NY24) died, but I fully support this idea. Claudia Tenney is awful and hasn't held a town hall in years. She closed her offices recently, ostensibly because of threats. Way to avoid accountability!
