I think this is the key
we are all sitting here asking how the fuck THIS campaign - this awful fucking campaign - from a visibly declining Trump results in quite possibly not only an EC victory but a PV victory
and the answer is that most people no longer see what we see

There's obviously something so profoundly fucked about the way most people get information.

It's fucking depressing
THEY live in alternate realities
We will still have elections. We will still call ourselves a "democracy".
But it will be utter bullshit that we just swallow while going about our otherwise "normal" lives.
The reasons that can happen in Russia aren't necessarily present in the US *today*.
But the conditions are ripe for military and law enforcement support of a "new world order" under extreme right-wing federal control.
The sad reality would be that we just keep on keeping on.
and they make a face like hmmmm not great, nevertheless
you just cannot interest people in shoveling money at local news
We’ve been watching the thermometer. Seeing the temperature steadily increase.
They’ve been sat in the pot not noticing the water is boiling.

But here we are.
I don't begrudge Biden or Harris. The time to stop the fascism was in 2016

I still want to be surprised.
Small problem and it ain’t the people running the economy with the issue
Like, even *pocs* broke more for Trump this time than in 2020. LESS women went for Harris than Biden. 40% of voters had 'the economy' as their biggest issue. the heavy corp media really has people fooled into think they, too, can be rich it seems
Admittedly, I was more sanguine yesterday...
1. Goldilocks economy is viewed as poor.
2. Trump is a repeatedly failed, criminal businessman but viewed as a smart/successful one.
The hate is not an *info* problem, but the above are. Gaslighting of a low info population has been EFFECTIVE & DEVASTATING.

They don't.
The votes are being stolen/flipped/something. I don't think this is really happening.
So here we are in this cooked soup of low information, high propensity voters that love a dictator and the rest of the country.
The left needs to focus on the commanding heights of the information economy
A sane information environment, even a bit better, could make a massive difference with some.
