SAYING BYE TO BEZOS: The Washington Post has lost star reporter Josh Dawsey, who will exit Jeff Bezos' embattled newspaper for The Wall Street Journal. WaPo brass tried to retain Dawsey, I'm told, but he had already made up his mind. All the details in @status.news: https://link.status.news/4gFYU7T

Kneeling to the Melon Felon is not a good look
May there be more like them come forward and stand up to the greed of “money above all else”oligarchy.

And I am a Dem but WSJ was in the forefront of truthfully reporting Biden’s mental decline
Untrue.
The Journal never tells the truth in their articles. As a business major, I constantly pick them apart and can pinpoint the gaslighting within them.
Sounds like Dawsey was probably right wing all along like Bezos.
Too bad. At times, he was pretty good.
I am also a business major/MBA and a financial analyst, and I used WSJ for years in my work. We obviously have very different opinions.
But this post is dead wrong.
Like when Abercrombie ditched their 100% cotton t-shirts… everyone I knew who coveted them, stopped buying them.
So I waited for WSJ to cover it when their sales dipped.
Didn’t. Sad.
Dawsey wants to be read and respected by people on the left, not presumed to be part of Bezos propaganda operation.
WaPo is cooked.
The relationships within the ownership and front office of the press seem practically incestuous.
They didn't say who was gonna turn out the lights.
Nobody will stand for the people. No one is coming. It's up to us.
he's done this all over the world for decades, the newsroom can't pretend not to know their work supports Murdoch's project.
The op-ed page is another story...
Now for the WSJ being a Murdoch paper, I’m surprised they’ve been comparatively reasonable.
The change does not appear to be about integrity or virtue.
The only conclusion that makes sense is Murdoch pays his propagandists better than Bezos.
'Joe Shmoe' says he always wanted to write for the comics so he's sending in his resume.
Analyze your orders and see what can be bought directly from the supplier and what can be bought at a local store or even Target. Take your time to change over.
I've tried, but I live in a remote state. :(
I'd have to choose between shipping or eating.
But I will keep trying. :)
I never use any product from Zuckerberg or Musk, ever.
I never shop at Walmart.
I live well, and lack nothing.
I make an make an effort not to be part of the problem or at least not support it financially.
Try harder.
It’s not difficult. I still look at the website to research products & reviews — then simply order from another vendor.
Haven’t come across anything we need that can’t be sourced elsewhere.
If everyone at least cut back on what they got from Bezos, it would make a difference.
WSJ is Murdoch Press.
Pr1me isn’t worth it, if my money goes to
That is not a reason not to hold anyone accountable.
We’ve seen how that worked.
What is the difference?
Bezos is younger
👏👏👏
At a time when we are so dependent on the honesty and hard work of the 4th estate, we need that again.
For a Bezos paper, where the agenda is to be kind to trump, then retaining Dawsey would have helped. Going to a Murdoch paper, is a win win for him.
Uh, C-SPAN... if you give equal time to Dem truths and GOP lies, how do you expect your viewers to be able to tell the difference?
Enlightened centrism is foolish.
Is WSJ any better?
It's been a right-wing rag for quite some time now.
The ones leaving now are the visionaries. The ones who stay will be restrained and censored, and eventually forced to make a choice.
The great service Ann Telnaes did to the country was to show how exactly the @washingtonpost.com plans to operate from now on.
Even during its conservative-turn times (e.g., Leonard Downie), it didn't get this bad.
And under Marty Baron, it came back.

They didn't publish the same lies the NYT did.
Hold their editorial pages against them, but Rupert stays away from the news.
he’s a Jim Crow GOP apologist
Its reporting, not so much.
on their terms(he had to say what they wanted). They’re likely getting to where they want to be, a written for
of FOX News. Entertainment only, facts not required.
(1) a meaningful ethical statement;
(2) a reassuring move.
It limits the choice of work.
That’s like going from the frying pan into the fire.
Dawsey is a solid reporter, but I’d like to hear his explanation about how the WSJ is a “better” platform. Perhaps it’s a lateral move for money — ok with me… I’m glad he can make a living when so few journalists can nowadays.
I still contend - If we remove Murdoch & all his influence on the world, the world will improve drastically.

This assumes you move your subscription money to another, more credible, outlet so (in aggregate moves) that other outlet can then hire them.
Classier... 🤦
