If you’re one of those people who earnestly uses cutesy little names like tRump or Elmo or whatever, I have a great idea for a New Year’s resolution for you.

Nah, I'll keep refusing to use his name. It's not a cutesy little euphemistic chuckle, it's keeping bile from coming up. It's aggression against sanity, and I won't bless him with my words by using his real name like I'd do with an adult.
I don't disagree, but here I am with a mortgage, a wife and 2 kids. I look back at pictures of my father, holding a baby at 20 and dead behind the eyes, and am fine with being a 50yo child.
Some Xmas coal for the bullshit gossip rags that called him "The Donald" back in the day; the lovable rogue scion of page 6 was a serial sexual predator with a crime adjacent inherited fortune, but you know, Only in New York, amirite.
Also h/t Morgenthau & Manhattan DA - a big oopsie there
In 2015 or 2016, I installed a browser extension that changed Trump's name to, iirc, Drumpf, because I just didn't want to take him seriously. I uninstalled it on November 9, 2016.
I don’t respect them enough to use their names. And I especially don’t care to drive up their mentions (which these sick fks live for)! That seems like a forced error on those who do. jmho
"Nazi" is a cute nickname too: "they shortened the NSDAP's name, Nationalsozialistische, to the dismissive "Nazi", in order to associate them with the derogatory use of the aforementioned term" https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazism#Etymology
This. Just seeing his photo or his name is like a slap in the face. So using an insulting name back to him makes it less painful, and I will continue to do so. Using his name feels like an unspoken assumption that he is deserving of respect, and he isn't.
Kevin, watching you get annoyed is like watching Paul Lynde get annoyed - it makes me smile when I know I shouldn’t. And I even get annoyed at the same stuff, but you are better at it than me.
I’m 100% fine with assigning petty nicknames to people who regularly deadname trans people and are actively trying to curtail other people’s civil and legal rights.
I'm quite partial to creative nicknames for the supervillians doing their level best to screw America and enrich themselves in the process. That said, the examples you gave did wear out their welcome a long time ago.
I only use uncapitalized initials- as can't be trolled or targeted w/those- There is nothing *cute about either of them, what they stand for, or the damage they do-
I refuse to capitalize his name. He’s little t trump. The other one is leon because the aforementioned person called him that . It’s my way of showing the immense disrespect I have for both of them.
I take people less seriously when they do that. On the other site if they use Leon I’m fine with it because he searches his name but the others seem childish to me
The original intent was to deny the algorithms for FB and Twitter mentions of either one. To keep them from trending or being picked up as a hot topic.
Over on FB, I consistently refer to tЯump as 'Tiny', not to be cute, but because I so loathe him it pains me to say his name. I'd rather spit. So I use 'Tiny', which is not something I made up--it's Stormy's nickname for him, and she would know.
I don’t know how cutesy those really are, but people used them back when people were being targeted on Twitter for using their names. And you’ll have to pry me calling Elon “Muskrat” from my cold dead fingers.
Over at the bad place I call him Elmo, not to be cute, but because he is exactly the type to search for his name to see what people are saying about him, and he has an army of trolls that do the same. I haven't been doing that here because there's no need to.
These cutesy names for Trump and Musk are as stupid and juvenile as Trump's obnoxious nicknames for people.
Thanks for the (probably unappreciated) common sense), Kevin.
It may be annoying to you, but it works like a pressure release valve for rage. If I stop calling Trump TICF (twice impeached convicted felon) and calling Musk Elonia, there’s a chance so much rage pressure will build up that my eyebrows will blow off.
Fuck off, you are on their side if you can't insult an evil and incompetent man without calling him a woman. You helped them win and you are helping them build the world they dream of
Relax, he's on our side. And as a lesbian, I'm DELIGHTED that Elmo Muskow has been identified as #VaginaNeck 's bottom & nicknamed Elonia since Melania is #VaginaNeck 's beard.
But I don't want to give up Burger King Lear. So much that I'm actually reading Lear over the holidays to appropriately cast Musk. I've mashed up before, likening him and Ramaswamy as a sort of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, but now he's giving off McBeth vibes, which does hold the fast food analogy
I use alternative names for the Orange Slime because I truly despise him so much that I want to bring to life the Yiddish curse “Yemoch Sh’moy” - “May his name be blotted out.
It would be great to stop misgendering those guys or sharing memes where they’re homosexual, because that really says more about you than it does about them

Reminds me of his shit treatment of women and that he’s a corrupt fungust

Millions have been traumatized but the evil orange rapist & if calling him some other dumb name is less painful, they should do that.
but thanks for your input
I have a . . . oh, wait
But this guy is clearly not going anywhere. So I'm into Name and Shame for these people.
How does one use tRump ‘earnestly?’

I really don’t want to use his name unless absolutely necessary.
Since they're merging, or coalescing, or congealing or something, how about The Dick Taters for the whole lot of them?
Is that bad?
They're not ever good about someone you hear about every damned day, you're attempting to give them a nickname and that isn't how those work either.
@theliamnissan.bsky.social will always be one of my favorites.
Originally a typo, but it works.
