this is what slave labor camps look like

one of the tasks of the American left is to explain to retail and service workers that this is the future that America has planned for them

This is a place designed to drive humans insane
So one might say......... "Work sets you free"?
Why does that phrase feels so familiar...... Oh well, I'm sure it's nothing!
Trump rules like a schoolyard bully.
He mocks the weak, fears the smart, and surrounds himself with cowards.
But bullies shrink when we stand up together.
No more silence. No more fear.
this is already how all of our prisons work.
They're already slave labor prisons, according to the 13th amendment.
I tried to rally Californians to ban the practice last year and the ballot measure didn't pass.
Our prisons need dismantling too.
Some young person does some shit like this and I think: welp, we’re fucking doomed.
There's no other way out.
Omfg.
Question two: let's circle back to question one real quick, shall we?
@therealnews.com covered it: https://therealnews.com/under-prop-6-california-voters-could-finally-abolish-forced-prison-labor
This is forced labor. From prisoners who many of whom are there with literally zero due process or evidence of crime. The fuck is wrong with this kid?!
The twin lies of "meritocracy" and the Just World Fallacy are the only things keeping him from realizing how deeply fucked up all this is.
Though I do of course agree that the lack of due process makes a bad thing even worse.
They'll learn new skills!
What a hellhole we live in.
" We used to be afraid of the gangs. Now we're afraid of our government"
I am not defending El Salvador’s government here. But, not gonna accept US’s hypocrisy.
If you get 2 days off for everyday you work you serve 3.34 years and get 6.63 (roughly) bank
I think it's a fair trade for such a slimy little piece of shit that makes you want to cave in his face.
It's child labor for adults.
Bro, just give me my three days.
“Come be a slave to get your sentence reduced”
But I was never found guilty…
“REDUCED SENTENCES!”
1) conditions within the living spaces of the prison
2) consequences to prisoners who do not want to work these shifts or physically cannot do this work
3) the lifelong consequences of years of working with poor ergonomics?
Just some fucking guy on YouTube
Like raising the prices 50% before a 25% off sale.
It's always been morally right to oppose the US prison system as a whole.
Journalists need to get into US prisons and expose so many abuses and injustices.
Im a lil bit skeptical.
Woof.
Try putting that under your resume as a minority, they'd toss it in the trash.
Oh, and I imagine Jews in concentration camps were *so* relieved when instead of dying immediately they were enslaved into making arms for Germany's war effort - so much better!
casual dehumanizing cruelty is the important focus.
But it bothers me that his math on days worked vs how long it would take to get out (as he says it) doesn’t make sense.
