Thereβs a six month hold at my library on the second edition of Emily Wilde series π I am looking forward to going to a food pantry fundraiser ice-skating disco this weekend. I even bought myself a rainbow sequence jumpsuit!
I have been going crazy waiting for this book!! I havenβt been able to preorder it yet, but Iβm hoping my family will snag it for my bday in a couple of months anyway.
Iβve been reading through as many books about fairies as I can find since last April, Emily Wilde has been my favorite so far!
I'm looking toward something fairly personal, but basically a partner and I were able to resolve an important issue in our relationship, and I'm looking forward to how much things will hopefully be!
Finding time to finish the book I'm reading, Navola by Paolo Bacigalupi. A fantasy novel about a family that is like the medieval bankers (Medici type) and their politics and machinations in that world. The author wrote The Windup Girl which I loved.
Citizen Sleeper 2. First game is an absolute work of art and I think about it all the time still. I think CZ2 is going to break my heart in the best way. Also Iβm going to friendsβ housewarming this weekend.
Iβm excited for that one too! Also getting to work on some creative things Iβve been thinking about for a long time but havenβt had the bandwidth for
I'm teaching at a conference on Saturday, and I'm actually looking forward to that. And afterward, I have a pitch session with an editor, and I'm looking forward to that, too.
Was having a particularly bad day yesterday and thoughtabout how I've always wanted to commission a needlepoint of Erana's Peace from the Quest for Glory series. Then I realized I could see if something similar already exists on Etsy, and promptly bought this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1657967943/quest-for-glory-1-eranas-peace-egavga
Whoops, hit Enter without alt text: an Etsy listing for a Quest for Glory 1 Erana's Peace EGA/VGA Spun Polyester Square Pillow. Pillow shows a still from the game of a large fruit-spotted lush-canopied tree in the center of a flower-studded clearing in a mountain valley.
Iβm currently watching Game of Thrones for the first time and itβs so good. I canβt wait to finish it. The next episode is called The Red Wedding. I love all these characters so much!
My daughters have the entire week out of school for Thanksgiving. Not sure what/how we are traveling but Iβm excited to get a full week to spend the holiday with them instead of just a few days
Update: it took me about 1.5 hrs to put together...& some of the shelf parts weren't quite fitting, so I left them off and it seems ok. But I'm really liking it so far. It's got 3 presets so I can just push a button to go to what I want.
The third book is out so soon?? I haven't even finished the second one!π
My small thing I'm looking forward to is finishing up a Baldur's Gate 3 animation (hopefully) tonight!
Re-watching the comedy, Airplane! (1980), this weekend after having watched the drama film it was loosely based on, Zero Hour! (1958), for a sort of side-by-side comparison. #movies
Itβs so much fun. As much as I love playing with a full table, two person games are a different beast. Also thank you for the book rec, it sounds amazing.
(I am also excited about the new Emily Wilde... plus many, many more books coming out this year, and for the fact that I can put them on hold in the Libby app well before they're released!)
My friend selected Butcher & Blackbird for our reading group. She texted me that they were never going to let her pick a book again, lol, but that I would love it. She was right. I sped read it & am super excited for the 3rd in the series in Feb.
Robert Crais is a favorite author. New book was released this month. Haven't had a chance to go to the bookstore and pick it up, so it's on my to do list for the weekend and I will read it cover to cover before Monday.
Ok i stepped away to make dinner but now I am going through all your replies and ahhhh I love that we still have all these little things here and there πβ₯οΈ
I'm in a play and our third weekend of performances starts tomorrow. To take the stage is such a wonderful feeling. I can't wait to do it 6 more times!
Last year, I told a friend how much I liked the apron she made. She surprised me last night by telling me she bought me the pattern. I am working on making my home more cozy, and hanging homemade aprons in the kitchen is just the ticket. Can't wait to pick out fabric!
I am looking forward to a 20-mile hike I planned with a friend. Anxiety tried to kill the thrill, but I laid her to rest with some research and clarity. Goodbye, anxiety; hello, adventure.
Iβm waiting on an order of more beads and jewellery hardware, because Iβve got new ideas that I canβt wait to put into action! I played around with one of my ideas today and Iβm very excited!
I have my 2nd of 5 iron infusions tomorrow and I hope for some actual energy after this one and I'm participating in The American Cancer society read every day in February even though I only got 1 donation.
After two months without a clothes dryer, our electric system has been upgraded, so I'm looking forward to the return of fluffy towels after our time of crunchy ones.
My kids have birthdays that are about 3 weeks apart and this year they asked for their joint party to be Cirque du Soleil since theyβre coming through town, so weβre going to a matinee show on Sunday βΊοΈ
The convention local to my area that's coming up soon! I won't say much else about it other than that until I move to Minneapolis, since it's extremely local and would be doxxing myself.
Honestly, a trip to H Mart this weekend is giving me life.
And a Lunar New Year event on Sunday held by one of the local Asian American groups in our city.
And we're still MCU ride or die, so the new Captain America in a couple of weeks.
Something fun and positive. I am putting together a quilt top from smaller monthly instalments. Rich browns, mustardy and greeny colours! I am not perfect but SO looking forward to getting some sewing done!
Iβm crocheting a βshirtβ out of super soft yarn. Itβs going to be for lazy time lounging. Iβm about an 1/8th of the way done. It will pair nicely with my slippers and blanket I made. π
Civilization 7. I've played the game series ever since the first game back in 1991, when I was only 9 years old. Now, I'm 42 and I'll be sharing the game with my wife and our children (8 and 3 years old). The series led to my fascination with world history and people across the globe.
His solo stuff is great as well. Caught him solo at a place called Codfish Hollow. Itβs this old barn they made into a venue. Itβs on a farm in the middle of the Iowa country side. Spots to camp, if one wants to and such. Really good shit.
A friend told me about "Encyclopedia of Faeries" a couple days ago. It sounded good so I ordered it and received it today. Guess what I'm doing this weekend?
I just bought the audiobook of the first one in the series because it sounded fun, but seeing your recommendation is making me excited to start. Just have to finish the cozy fantasy series Iβm in the middle of first. (I need cozy right now, if you canβt tell.)
This coming Wednesday is Wonter Fantasy, the first D&D con I will attend this year. I will see beloved friends from the DM and player community and run one adventure I wrote and one I co-wrote. I am excited about it.
I bought myself nice gin and a bar kit so I can make nice mix drinks at home instead of spending a fortune out. Hopefully Iβll get some friends to come over and try it.
I'm going to a concert at a small venue next Monday to see Lauren Mayberry of CHVRCHES perform songs from her new solo album! I love live music & don't go often because Covid / flu / etc, so I'll n95 mask up & down so much water before entering the venue that I won't have to take my mask off at all.
Thank you! π Music is so healing, but live music is so risky (honestly for everyone, but especially for immunocompromised folks like me & our family/ friends/ caregivers). It's so worth it, though, if risk can be mitigated enough!
Hehe thankyou! Im lucky because i live at home with my family so i dont have too many bills. So im like i will make my own good fortune and go to japan like ive always wanted!
