Good surprises since 2020:
Old people became way more Democratic
EC bias declined
R's have nominated terrible candidates
Bad surprises:
Zoomers are really right wing now
Tech moving right
Non-white support cratered faster than I thought it would
TikTok has been really bad

From a content perspective R videos get more views than D and also R content is also more effective on per impression basis.
Would be nice to make public in a more organized way but was just responding to a question 🙂
But for those who are blanker slates, and are not particularly media literate, it plays to more inherent biases, which trend fascistic.
1)Playing video games
2)Watching people play video games
3)Watching TikTok
4)Smoking weed
5)Jacking off to hardcore porn
6)Watching right wing podcast videos
Is there a wonder why we are fucked as a society?
I’m not super optimistic about how that will shake out.
Looks like 24% of Americans claim to have not read a single book in the past year (seems lower than other sources, I would bet closer to 50%).
GOP made up 24% a couple years back, 67% of their voters under 45 haven't.
Do I have that correct?
Looking down on people and ignoring their real concerns won’t win them back.
The defendents ?GOPers largely responsible 4 the illiteracy in U.S. 4 decades bc $$$
Our goal should be to reduce ignorance, and redistribute all vast private fortunes below levels that create this political danger.
Assume that at some point the world becomes so complex, and each of us so specialized, that all of us are effectively ignorant. At that point the way forward would be a style of democracy that better empowers specialists.
I tend to think primary reform is the answer. We just shouldn't have people running for federal office nominated through primaries. POTUS candidates should be selected by a convention of elected state officials etc.
as much as Dems are demonized as a monolith, they are too fractured an alliance comparatively to the FOX/AON GoP media political party
I'll call the app "Dig Up the Dirt"
Red pill content will only be fed to you if that’s what you like and comment on.
Rs are playing the human animal biases better.
Right-wing beliefs are much more simplistic in comparison, which is why they thrive on social media.
DOes the tone of the rightwing press on there, perhaps predispose to GOP types feeling superior and thus getting more GOP views?
If so, how much do you think it helps to limit on those social media for those under let’s say 23(until frontal lobe fully develops)?

It's everything 1984 predicted, just 40 years later.
It the cratered non-white support that I think is the difficult part.
Tech...problem for another day
Tech is
What can get them back over time, do you think?
(Ignorant on this myself and curious to learn more)
This has allowed us to win way more seats than you'd expect from national vote share.
To be clear 18 year's of all race/genders have gotten more conservative though: non-white men have moved the most to the right, white women have moved the least.
More right surely, more reactionary maybe. More and more or feels like Democrats are actually the more conservative AND more liberal party
In 2004 I was despondent, certain Karl Rove had achieved his "conservative century" and progressives were doomed. Four years later was the largest progressive (presidental) victory of my lifetime.
I work with many Gen Z men (all graphic designers, videographers and editors), and every single one listens to Joe Rogan.
It's funny because the "We're doing poorly with young men" situation is so much worse than people realize in terms of magnitude and expected long term harm that it is still underrated despite how much people talk about it.
Even in statewide races it impacts who gets promoted due to visibility.
But the youngs are morons justifying it on the grounds of "how could they know better?"
Overall - 0.4%
Among non-white voters - 0.9%
Among 18-20 year olds - like 11%!
If that’s a significant cause, maybe a fire brand lefty could capitalize
I’d like to see how the vote-choice-by-age estimates compare once NC has sorted precinct results (or CVRs if any counties provide them)
Living among a higher % of college educated lends itself to longer life expectancy. High vaccine rates, compliance with mask mandates etc
After a certain age more liberals are standing to represent the gen
Neither doomerism nor unfounded optimism.
Short form video and the current podcast landscape seems bad, yeah.
